Reworked version of the original game with a lot of new additions and improvements, free for all previous owners of "Caribbean!"

Includes the Free DLC "All Hands Ahoy!"

Blood & Gold: Caribbean!' is a blend of economic strategy and open-world RPG, set in the pirate era of XVII Century Caribbean. The game is based on the significantly improved Mount & Blade: Warband engine.

Free for all previous owners of 'Caribbean!', Blood & Gold brings community's most wanted features, such as an addition of the Native tribes, reworked locations and strategy map, playable female character, special missions and other numerous tweaks and improvements.

Decide your own role and create your own adventure in Blood & Gold!

Those who crave for battles in jungles, raids on rich cities and capturing enemy ships can choose the path of a pirate and a mercenary who will rise to the top, with the help of his own sword.

Those who aren't afraid of the words 'financial planning' may take pleasure in making great deals and expanding their enterprise by choosing the path of a merchant and businessman. Power and wealth can be achieved whichever path you choose.

Of course, if you're tired of fighting and boarding enemy ships, you can always invest your collected savings in good real estate. Or do it the other way around — sell all of your industry, acquire a fine brig and become a pirate.

  • Conquer the Caribbean with your fleet, army and combat experience, as well as your talent of doing business and trading.
  • Naval battles with controllable ships and boarding fights.
  • Building and management of commercial property in towns.
  • Special governor and underground missions: assassinations, arsons, seizure of property, protection of brothels and many more.
  • With blackjack and hookers: take a break and try to make some money by playing cards.

Note: This game may require additional serial key for multiplayer mode. In case it is not automatically generated in your GOG.com library (open it via website → select the game → More → Serial Keys), please reach out to our Support team.

A Second Chance......

let me start off by saying two things: 1) i played literally every mount and blade engine game at this point: 2008 to the original caribbean. 2) i played snowbird's original attempt at this game and was heavily disappointed. but why am i giving this recommendation right now? because i believe snowbird deserved its second chance, and they more then delivered with this one. snowbird's original "caribbean!" or,as it was called in russian circles "with fire and sword 2: caribbean!": was an attempt to extend the mount and blade engine from medieval grand combat to a swashbuckling adventure on the high seas, with a custom made ship battle system to supplement that. in my original review for caribbean!: i stated that as someone who's been playing both mount and blade and very high quality pirate games such as sea dogs and age of pirates 2: i found that going into caribbean!: i missed much of the experience that those other games gave:the mount and blade engine just can't give you the immersion of a long voyage at sea that well. but: With blood and gold: i was actually refreshed to see how many of the old problems i had with snowbird's original attempt faded away: granted: its no age of pirates, let alone a modded pirate game: but it is quite fun: wheel and flint lock gun-play is sure to make people who like flintlock technology grin with joy(and perhaps by the original "With fire and sword" by taleworld which was excellent),the ship battle is simplistic then most pirate games but its still a joy to find a band of pirates, engage your vessals, board their ships and play a nice game of "who walks the plank tonight". and the new management, native tribes and recruitment systems are a joy for an old mount and blade vetern like me to use: especially since i remember the original's crude systems. if your in the market for a plain and simple but exciting swashbuckling adventure,or your feeling like giving snowbird a rightful second chance: pick this up! you won't regret it.

Getting better :)

The game has still some bugs and glitches and some things should be more user friendly, but in general, they pulled off a better product, I really appreciate when developers do not give up and work hard to keep the players happy. Snowbird, good job!

the Game has flaws but is incredibly fun

First, english isn't my main language, sorry for the mistakes Ok, clearly the game isn't perfect : I've seen weird bugs, sometimes quests or fights feel a bit clunky, some key features from M&B are missing (real interactions with Lords, marshal ect..), quests difficulty are unbalanced (c'mon saving the gunners/isolated battery is IMPOSSIBLE) But I am having a real blast with this game !! I've played 20 hours over the course of the last 5 days The music is great, the ambiance perfect, gun fights, raids on city & uprising in plantation when you are kept as a prisonner are epic and so fun to play

Old Engine trying to do too many things.

So Mount and Blade definitely wasn't made to handle the age of firearms too well. + The ship to ship combat turned out to be better than I expected and is the only part of combat where You can actually use some tactics to influence the battle. - All the other combat is a mess, in medieval modifications of Mount and Blade like Bryttenwalda, You can use formations, ranged units and cavalry with at least some sense of tactical combat reminding me of the Total War series. But here combat is a complete mess, on land it turns into a blob1 vs blob2 and when boarding enemy ships its the most chaotic "everybody everywhere" where everyone is running around like headless chickens. And the side with more chickens often wins, but there really isn't much that you as a captain can do there. Summary: Get a medieval or ancient themed Mount and Blade modification and enjoy shield walls, flanking and such things.

A Janksterpiece

Blood and Gold: Caribbean! is what you get when you push an engine unsuited for your needs to its limits (much like M&B:Viking Conquest), and it's magical. The game is really good if you're the type of person who doesn't mind a chuckle or two about graphics, is able to handle quite a few gamebreaking bugs and doesn't mind a few CTDs (highly recommend you DON'T run the game on "don't quit without saving"). You spawn as a horse whn you start the game, but then turn into a ship, the UI is fucking awful and convoluted, and I love every single part of it. So, why then do I look over all these flaws? Well, it's quite simple really. This is the Sid Meier's Pirates! I always wanted and never got. If you like Pirates, you'll feel right at home here. More advance economy mechanics than warband, do shady business for "Suspicious people", assassinate politicians, fight ghost and zombies (yes, really!), get good equipment, become a master corsair, conquer the seas:tm:. Steal enemies' ship and sell them, and get letters of marque. I can't praise enough how similar it is to Pirates!, and the combat is much better than Pirates (yet still fucking jank, but if you played Mount and Blade, again, you'll feel right at home). Highly recommended buy to fans of Warband and Pirates!, but on sale. I can't in good conscience recommend this game as a buy at full price, wait for a sale, since it's still a jankfest. Still, the game, where it lacks polish, reemplish in depth rarely found in other "modern" games.
