How i got it working on Windows 8.1 x64
What worked for me was XP SP3 compatibility mode, and lowest video settings. FPS seems to be around 30, but still very playable. This game obviously gets 5 stars, i love how i can just buy it without much hassle instead of pirating it, since i lost the CD a long time ago. One of my favorite childhood games.

Love the game, but download doesn't work
Redownloaded and reinstalled several times since I bought on my Windows 10. Every time, I'm told my local copy of the game is corrupted. GOG's platform installs fine, but after going through the installation process for this game, there is never any success. GOG's game file for Worms 2 is corrupt - disappointing as I was really looking forward to playing this game.

Not the right release
Worms 2 was great at the time, but them Worms World Party and Worms Armageddon followed - I'd buy those, not this one. Where's "Worms2 Bundle"?

Runtime Error
I like Worms, I like Worms Armageddon. However, not Worms 2. I can't play this game. It crashes every time I start play.
