A decent experience locked at 60 FPS !
I have enjoyed my playthrough of Wolfenstein the New Order, a decent selection of guns and perks you unlock based on how you play keep the progression fresh and entertaining up until the end. The grim fictionalised future the game sets out was very interesting to discover for me. Numerous collectibles expand on the propaganda filled fascist world and some are simply incredible like classic English songs being adapted to this alternate history and thus being sung in German. The story was also decent, nothing mind blowing but I think it provides some great setups. For example in the very first mission the protagonist, B. J. Blazkowicz, gets into a coma. He then spends 14 years under the care of a polish mental hospital before coming back to his senses. This simple decision allows the player to discover the cruel setting alongside B. J. and justifies some exposition dumps. Even if B. J. is probably the least interesting character in my opinion. Gameplay wise, it's a blast. Combat is filled with gore and destruction although the game being capped at 60 FPS heavily impacted my enjoyment. I am someone used to higher refresh rates (144 Hz) so my disappointment was high when I discovered that uncapping the frame rate in this game makes it run faster (as in the speed you move at and such gets modified). Now 60 FPS (unlike 30 FPS) is still a good standard hence why I didn't feel like tampering around potentially breaking sections of the game just to play more smoothly. Else, I had no performance issues at all, I am playing on Windows 11 with an Nvidia RTX 3080 and an I7 12700K.

Fun but overrated WW2 shooter
The Good + Killing nazi scum never gets old + Satisfying gunplay + Dual wielding + No carry weapon limit + Go in with guns blazing or take the stealthy route + Gameplay is comparable to Metro 2033/LL + Good graphics and soundtrack + Good voice acting + Nazis speak German + Likable side characters + Lean around corners + Play Wolfenstein 3D at homebase + Secrets The Bad - Generic and cliched story - BJ is a moron who keeps getting captured - BJ's mumbling in-game is sometimes hard to hear - Too much hand holding (you're never alone) - Too many cutscenes - Annoying puzzles - Pacing issues - No auto pickups - Every action requires pressing 'E' - Forced stealth sections - Can't hide bodies - Weapons reset with each new level - Weapon size's too big (taking up 1/3rd of the screen) - Bullet sponge boss fights - No music volume slider - No quicksaves The Ugly - Game is locked to 60 FPS - Texture pop-in because of Megatextures

FPS with Style and movie like story
This game is epic, truly a must play for any FPS fan and if you have been following the Wolfenstein series then do yourself a favor and play both The New Order and Old Blood. What a treat, I enjoyed every freaking moment of game play, the first play through I did most of it stealth style and then on the second go around I went in guns-a-blazing everywhere, both styles are fun with this game and the eye candy graphics along with the epic story make replaying this game pure joy. I'm leaving it installed as I'm sure I'll replay it many times or just jump into my favorite chapters for a quick fix of fun. Unlike most GoG games, I had to do very little tweaking to get it to play the way I wanted out of the box. One very important fix is to create game/texture cache folders because the install does not by mistake and things run much smoother if you do. (make sure to create the path/folder(s) below) %LOCALAPPDATA%\AppData\Local\MachineGames\Wolfenstein The New Order I played this on 4K 4096x2160 @ 60 fps with no problem on a i5 PC with only 8 gigs of RAM (the GTX 1660 Super helped)

Glorious ultrawide support
The cutscenes and videos are properly scaled to fit the screen, black bars don't exist. No need to run third party programs or hex editing, nothing. Simply amazing.
