Superb....
One of the greatest space sim ever. Story is not on the same level than WCIII or IV but anyway excellent sequel. Beautifull graphics (hope this version includes 3DFXglidewrapper or something tha u can enjoy all effects in the game. Woth buying !!!

Great space action, mediocre story
The space combat portions of WC5 were the best yet. (Other than Cap ships never exploding all the way... Don't know why that always bothered me). However, the FMV sequences and story fell short of the previous titles. I would say that WC2 also had a better story. Maybe I was just used to battling Kilrathi, but the new enemy and story just seemed bland, boring and derived to me. Great game to pick up for the action and for the continuation of the universe though!

This is not a game. This is a game-movie-hybrid. Absolutely fantastic when it came out.

Not the best, not the worst
Prophecy tried to revive the Wing Commander series by giving it a darker tone and a more intimidating enemy. It was not bad at all, the game play and graphics engine were modernized. But the big bad enemy never really felt right. Not playing Blair but some new Rookie was probably also a reason for not really "feeling at home". Still it's a good game and worth buying.
