Description
This version of Wing Commander™ 4: The Price of Freedom features DVD-quality cutscenes.

The year is 2673, four years after the Treaty of Torgo and the end of the Kilrathi War. As hostilities died out, more trivial concerns like rebuilding what was lost or dealing with space piracy, became the biggest concerns of the Terran Confederation. Even Christopher "Maverick" Blair, the famous Confed pilot responsible for ending the war, settled down and became a farmer. In these times of peace, humans grew fat and complacent. All good things must end, though. Soon enough, heinous incidents erupted on the outskirts of the Confederation, and humanity was forced to the brink of civil war. Confed HQ needed the best and decided to recall Colonel Blair to active duty.

This is where you come in.

Game doesn't work with Windows 7

I really want to play this game. But unfortuantly it won't work on Windows 7. I don't have an older computer with an older operating system. I've tried a few tutorials to get game working with Dosbox. But to no avail. If anyone has any tips please post a review. It's so heart breaking to read these reviews and click "play" and have audio play but no video. Just a black screen. =(

joystick problems...

game looks great! runs great!......however, i have a new usa ch flightstick pro. works great on all other games but in this game it trembles everytime i move it. i can still sharp turn and move correctly but when dogfighting if i try to move it a little it trembles and shakes all over the place and it makes for some terrible aiming. so close to my favorite game ever being played the right way for the first time since 1996

Such a classic, one of my favorites!

I love the entire Wing Commander series and its Privateer offshoots, but this is one of my favorites. Highly recommended!

Unplayable

No joystick or mouse cotnrol support for flight makes the gameplay impossible. Don't know how everyone else is playing this game.

Truely an amazing game and story - well ahead of its time with replay ability to this day! Great live actors, great combat, diverse settings, etc...
