Wing Commander™ 1+2

These are definitely classics but it's hard to get as excited about the gameplay after more advanced space combat engines were released. I think one of my fondest memories was of blowing up a Kilrathi carrier you were supposed to scout with a Hornet in one of the secret missions packs and then getting a mix of praise and being cussed out for not following orders on returning to home base. This was considerably cooler than X-Wing's approach which was to simply to rename the ironically named "Invincible," "Invincible 2," "Invincible 3" etc... when you blew it up on missions you weren't really supposed to.

This is so exciting. One of my personal favorite games is now easily available. The only down side is that it doesn't come with SM 1+2 or SO 1+2. Lets hope they fix that soon as that has some of the my favorite moments in the WC series.

Excellent: history, soundtrack and graphics. Playing Wing Commander with my cousin as copilot (keyboard) was one of the best gaming experiences I ever had. I hope The Secret Missions add-on will come soon.

If you like Space Sims, you probably already know Wing Commander. If you don't, then you should look into it, because this realy is the stuff of Legend. Even if the gameplay has aged a bit, the story itself is worth one or two playthroughs. Pity they didn't seem to include the four expansions, as they are preety rare and probably most of the players (even the older ones) hadn't had the opportunity to try them out. Even though it was kind of a missed opportunity, don't let it keep you from buying this wonderful games.

Wing Commander 1 started it all for me in my passion for space combat simulators, it was THE game I always enjoyed playing with no limit to the number of playthroughs I would complete for the sole purpose of flying the glorious A-14 Raptor. However to my dismay I had always wanted to go further: Playing all the other Wing Commanders, but with every rig I owned they would never work, leaving me only with Wing Commander 1. This changes it as it includes Vengeance of the Kilrathi, my dream is finally in motion and I certainly hope that it presses on with more WC titles entering the catalogue!
