An incentive to re-evaluate
It is easy to form preconceptions about others, to feel we are at the centre of the world, and even that the world is out to get us. This game challanges these notions, arguing that most of the times our preconceptions are false and we are in fact not at the centre of the world. We are at the centre of our own world, sure. Everyone is the hero of their own journey. I believe that, for everyone, the most important person is themselves. There is no problem with that. In fact, I believe that's a healthy approach. It doesn't mean we are selfish. We can put others before us while still doing it for us. It's all about what we choose to value. If I choose to value helpfulness, I could help someone out, even to my own disadvantage, and still feel good about it. Ultimately, I still help others for me, because I deem it an important value. Recognizing and accepting that others don't always think about you, and that you are only the at the centre of your own world can make a huge difference. Everyone doesn't always think about you. They are busy thinking about themselves, just like you and not necessarily in a selfish way. And that's okay. The world is not out to get you. It's just easy to think that way, to avert responsibility. Because taking responsibility for your own life, for the state of it, is difficult. It might not be your responsibility how you got where you are, but it's your responsibility to decide what you do with your current situation. Be mindful of choosing your own values, take responsibility for them, take responsibility for how you are, and do what you think is right. It's difficult, but worth it. Unwording did a wonderful job tackling this topic, delivering a powerful message. A message that might seem obvious at first glance, but gets deeper the more you think about it.
