One of my favorite games

First of all, this game was created by Toby Fox, so you know the music is gonna be amazing and it is, but basically every other aspect of this game is great as well. The characters are endearing (and it has non-binary representation, which is always cool), the story is cool, the gameplay is refreshing and plays with player expectations. Can really reccomend this one!

A classic of mid 2010s indie gaming

Pros: fun gameplay, interesting story and characters Cons: genocide route affects your game, also this game does not much have content. i wish there was some more content for some more replay value. Overall: I recommend this game despite it's flaws

Undeniable classic.

I usually can't play through games like this. I took a break near the end on my first playthrough. I'm not even the type of gamer that likes to sit thru dialogue. I make some exceptions though. This is one of them. The replayability was great. After I reached the end at first I was dying to play it again and change the choices I make. I have one massive tip. Don't read ANY tips or guides. If you really need help, see if you know anyone that can respect not spoiling the story can personally help you. This is the most important blind playthrough I have ever played.

A Masterpiece

For years I always heard people talking about Undertale but never took the time to try it and after completing my first playthough I have to say I was blown away. The graphics may look like an old NES game but the music is one of the best scores I have ever heard in a game/movie, the gameplay is fun even if you are not trying to kill monsters, you get to decide how the story moves forward like in Mass Effect and the Witcher, and the story is top notch. Even at full price this game is totally worth it! Toby Fox and his team did an amazing job and I am so looking forward to Deltarune as well! P.S. The review score on this site deserves to be way higher :)

Multi-layed game story telling

This game has many layers. On the surface of it, there is a lot of light-hearted humour, often playing off well-understood gaming tropes. But it goes quite a bit deeper. The gameplay itself is engaging, but not particularly challenging for players who are experienced gamers. There are tests of player dexterity and puzzle-solving, but the strength of the game is more about the journey than about these challenges. The music is carefully crafted and evocative. Sometimes conjuring a mood of other games, and sometimes conjuring feelings to go with parts of this game's story. In short, play Undertale for the journey. There's some good stuff in there that you might not expect.
