Too buggy and bad game design
I tried this game three times now. The biggest problem of the game is in my opinion that it does not allow to save more often. Your saves are very limited and if you die you have to replay large portions (up to ~20 minutes playtime). This is especially bad combined with how buggy the game is, which makes you die even though you did everything right. So here are my three runs: First run I just died in an instant death trap, there is NO save point in the game at this point at all, so I had to restart the game from the beginning. Even though many cutscenes are skippable, there is still a lot of interaction you need to do before the game really starts. Very annoying. On my second run I reached the first save point and got to the first enemies. Could defeat some but again, for a long time no save point. I messed up and died (my mistake I admit, no criticism here). Third run I thought well okay now that I know where the enemies are, I can do this. And I did really well, I almost managed to reach the save point without even taking any damage, but there are two enemies guarding the save room and after defeating the first enemy and shooting the second enemy to the ground, suddenly I could not finish off the second enemy anymore, the crowbar wouldn't connect and the nail gun behaved as if there was no enemy left in the room (it usually auto-aims). The enemy could just kill me from full heath without me being able to do anything. Might give the game another try if the developer fixes this issue. I will say this game is definitely NOT for Silent Hill lovers, as other reviews claim. Silent Hill has pretty frequent save points and you can save however often you want and you're also not limited with inventory and SH tends to give tons of resources. Tormented Souls also has no difficulty selection at all. I would say it's more for people who like Resident Evil.
