Great game for beginners. 100 percent.

I would definetely play this game a fourth time. Torchlight 2 is better for people wnting longer game play.

Torchlight 1: a true classic

More refined than FATE, simpler and less grim than Diablo, oddly superior to Torchlight 2 or 3. It's a great mental break: just slide into the world, adventure a little, teleport back to town, enjoy comparing loot, then come back tomorrow, or next week.

Torchlight - Review

Torchlight is a good story-driven game. The gameplay is easy to understand and the graphics are pretty nice. I like Torchlight II more than Torchlight, but nonetheless I enjoy playing Torchlight very much.
