Just excellent remasters all around

I played and finished all three as a kid, and the remasters are a perfect mix of looking gorgeous on modern hardware while keeping all the charm intact. Adding modern controls (keyboard + mouse to look around) is a huge plus and they are well-implemented. (The original controls are available if you want, but I didn't miss them, it's great to finally be able to look around freely.) My only minor complaint is that I wish there was a "remastered sounds" feature, especially for TR1, but I think there are even mods available that can do that. Overall, recommended to everyone - if you played the originals before like me, see above. If you've never played them, these games are refreshingly simple in some ways, but navigating the level layouts and figuring out what to do can be difficult in ways you don't encounter often in newer games.

Excellent remasters

I love this, I did play the Tomb Raider games when they came out on PS1 but even back then, I found the controls too annoying and clunky to stick with any of them, to the point where I never actually finished a TR game. Fast forward to 2025, and I've now finished TR1 and nearly TR2 on this remastered collection. Very happy they finally decided to modernize these games, particularly controls-wise, but also all of the graphics. Sure there was a certain charm about the original releases due to how 'blocky' everything looked, but these remastered versions feel like they're giving us a chance to see how the developers would've been able to make these games look had they the technology to do so back then.

Classic with improved graphics

While I do agree with those complaining about censorship, and honestly I would be glad if they didn't censor it in the first place, it is still easily fixable with mods. Rest of the game(s) is pure gold though, pretty much how I remember them with improved graphics. They even hired XProger, guy who made OpenLara (open source remake of these games) to work on this, which by itself made me like this remake even more. All in all, for me this remake is the best way to enjoy these games. Once I get through these 3, I'm definitely buying 4-6. PROS: - Linux compatible via Proton, using Heroic launcher in my case (I've not noticed any bugs/crashes yet) - everything gameplay-wise is the same, original "feel" of the game is preserved - new models, especially Lara, look fantastic - 3 games for the price of half modern game, going even lower on sale is insane - every positive about original games applies here (interesting maze-like level design, overall atmosphere, sounds, challenging gameplay etc.) - it released on GOG DRM free, that alone is admirable CONS: - modernised controls are simply inferior, but maybe someone likes them - if you are not used to tank controls, you will have a bad time - some areas are too dark, especially when comparing them with old graphics (F1 ingame) making navigation difficult - some sort of manual would be nice, didn't know about F5 (shortcut to save game) and F9 (shortcut to load game) if I didn't randomly tried it. Same with F1 for switching to old graphics, but I knew that from other remakes
