The Lonely Light in a Bloody War...

This War of Mine: The Little Ones offers a staunch take of war through a child's eyes, to which a their innocent personalities try to understand the emotions and hardships taken through this dire time of need. This expansion comes with the new playable addition of children, along with mod support. Gameplay wise, The Little Ones now features a new type of inhabitant that can live with the survivors: Children. As you progress through the war, these children have more premature personalities than the adults, and will be constantly walking around the household playing, talking with the older grownups, or helping around with various tasks. Children must be taught some procedures to make certain items or to cook before doing these tasks themselves. Also, with Children, they cannot properly negotiate with Traders nor construct some various Adult Workshop-Objects, such as the Metal Workshop or the Heater. Yet, instead, they can fashion Toys from the Workshop in order to boost their Happiness. Having a happy Child within the house can boost the morale of your inhabitants, creating positive effects. Story-wise, In terms of the personalities of the new characters and Children, each of them brings forth gripping accounts of their lives before the war. It provides a unique concept to the game of how it represents a child's innocence during the war, changing further and further due to the bloody experiences and sacrifices. A child's death can break even the most staunchest of men; senseless killing will cause the child the question the morals between good and bad. Whatever the action, it brings consequences that will challenge both children and inhabitants to think on past events and decisions. In finality, This War of Mine: The Little Ones is a decent expansion for fans of the game. There are many interesting aspects to discover, and these new additions further drive the idea of war through the eyes of a civilian...

More terrible bugs, little content

Adds more bugs to the game. With this addon my characters won't even move after coming back from scavenging if there is a child in the house. I have to quit every time it happens. In addition the trader comes once and only once for the entire game. This bug is actually something I like though as the game was, and unfortunately still is, too easy. Adds kids though which is okay. Not worth the bugs though.

Don't play with this DLC turned on

I love kids but in this DLC they are horribly represented（not to mention extremely buggy) Here kids just whine and cry all the time, add minimal contribution to the shelter, you main characters need to talk to calm them all the time, wasting the time they can spend on other productive things. Having a kid introduces many gameplay bugs: - your main character (and the kid) just get stuck in the kitchen, can't move or do anything at all (can't even feed the kid) - Frankie the trader comes very rarely or not at all Regretting I played with this DLC on

Encore une masterclass de 11 Bit studio

Une pépite de jeu de gestion/survie avec une ambiance et un réalisme fou. On se sent réellement comme des civils qui sont prisonniers au milieu d'un champ de bataille. On se sent faibles, démunis, parfois paranoïaques des autres humains qu'on pourrait rencontrer (car il y a des soldats, des criminels et de simples civils qui peuvent être hostiles, neutres ou alliés). Ce jeu permet de démontrer d'une façon crue mais réelle que la guerre n'est pas dutout glorieuse pour tout le monde et qu'à l'inverse, elle est brutale pour beaucoup.

Great Game, With A Few Drawbacks

First off, let me just say, I love this game. It's a very serious subject, and a very well done perspective on it. Kudos to the makers. Now let's get the standard scoring out of the way. Graphics: A-. Mostly 2D with perspective effects, "pencil" sketching adds to the atmosphere. Music: A. Very well done, perfectly suited to the style of the game. Sound FX: B+. Most of them are top notch, but some of them feel like they've just been recycled from certain post-apocolyptic titles. (I swear I heard some of the Fallout New Vegas effects in there.) Gameplay: A-. Yes, it's great, but there are a few things that bug me. For instance, there's no way to tell what skills the characters have, or what occupations pertain to which skills when you create a new character, until you get your game started. If you get into the game and don't like the skills each of your chosen characters have, you have to go through the whole process of setting up a new game map, picking characters, etc. The only *major* things that I don't care for in this game are that, when scavenging, you can only have one character bringing in loot. Probably just a game balance thing, but it still is a gripe for me. Also, I realize they weren't going for this particular style, but.... in scavenging mode, I would have preferred being in first person. Personally, it just has a more "real" feel to it when I'm viewing the scene from my character's perspective. Also, those little bits of "graffiti" in the game? The ones with trash like "F@#k the war!"? Yeah, sure, they might be more realistic to the average person, but believe it or not, some of us would have preferred a language toggle to switch off profanity. The "mature" toggles in games seem to be something we've lost, like with the original Unreal Tournament, or with the N64 classic Perfect Dark.
