It will last you months, yet not waste your time. Above all, it has a vivid, enduring personality, something that is exceedingly rare among its breed of mega-budget open-world epics (and that will probably be rarer still once Hideo Kojima and Konami part ways later this year). For my money, it's the greatest role-playing game in years.

Great game with minor flaws
Undoubtedly, one of the most elaborate games out there. Including - for the most part - very good questing/plot, a well crafted world/lore and just generally a beautiful place to immerse yourself in. However, it's not without it's fair share of hiccups here and there, like minor quests being uncompleteable due to chest looting not always working correctly. All in all it's recommended.

How can a game look this good and run so well at the same time? The universe and writing were great from game 1, the second game was an improvement in gameplay and graphics and Witcher 3 exceeds all expectations. I'm speechless.

5 star rating, but...
Graphics, story, characters, atmosphere, music. These things are amongst the best I've ever experienced in any game and they are the reason why you will never forget your first playthrough. In fact, they are so great that I give this game 5 stars, despite a few things that would send lesser RPG straight into dumpster. When it comes to actual gameplay, the game really suffers. The heart of any RPG - the levelling system and skill tree are heavily flawed. The combat is boring and movement is clunky (especially on horse that likes to get stuck in various rocks and trees). It's a shame, because Witcher 3 had the potential to really be the king amongst games. Now it "only" stand next to the best. Oh, and special mention regarding main character: Never thought this might happen, but Geralt dethroned JC Denton in the "top most likeable / badass / sarcastic / cool" list.
