The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition

The story lines were very well done. The potion system absolutely sucks, There is no way to know if you need a potion buff, Until your in combat, And then your not allowed to stop and drink them. This is idiotic. You can only know if you need a potion after you have been killed? What genius thought that one up? The combat was very simple, Hit them fast or hit them hard, Roll away if you need to. And use a quen sigil in case they hit you. What i liked was the auto targeting made you attack another unit, Even if your camera was facing the wrong way at the time. The scenery was beautiful most of the time, But there were those moments where they used cartoons to fill in time. I thought that was cheesy. Especially after you watch the credits for nearly an hour, Just to see a tiny animation of the south attacking the north. That was lame. Crafting turned out to be useless in this game, Because the loot i picked up was better than the stuff i could make. Unless there were some hidden diagrams somewhere that i missed, But the game sometimes jerks you into a new area when your not ready to leave yet. And this causes you to fail a lot of quests that you were almost finished with. The game should have the option to return to an area if you want. So you can finish the quests. Overall I give this game 4/5 stars, Because even though it's a good fun game. The potions and crafting systems were not helpful at all. And because of the lack of free travel that would allow me to finish quests. But for the price, It's one hell of a game.

My first Witcher game and one of my favourites

I bought The Witcher on Steam during one of their sales. I gave it a try and found it to be a tad bit confusing. I gave up after a few hours. I wanted to give The Witcher 2 a pass but after reading that CD Projekt RED is releasing TW2 with no DRM, I decided that i'm going to give TW1 another try and buy TW2. Thank you CD Projekt RED for rewarding your legitimate paying customers with no intrusive DRMs. I have just bought my copy of TW2 and you can be sure I will be supporting your future releases and GOG.com

I really liked the first Witcher. Good story, good roleplaying elements (what you did mattered) and good fighting. I was expecting that sequel so much I bought a new computer to run it (2600K/Z68, 8GB, SSD and 5870) In Witcher 2 the combat has changed. You cannot remap the keys in game and you have to edit the config file if you want to use keys as common as the arrows. It's clear that the controls have thought of for a console. The fights are lame, you can get chain-stun kill easily by the npcs and your character takes his time to answer to your commands. And from what I read on the web site I'm one of the lucky ones. (Crashes, ...) You have been warned.

And how splendidly executed it is! Digitally available without fuss, goodies in excess and displayed and marketed with true love, from day one. Amazing. Big, big, big up to the magnificent poles! You deserve every penny of the proceeds. Enjoy, you earned them. This is what games should be made like.
