Progress is absolutely visible

Back in 2014, i wasn't sure that "Mars: War Logs" will get me. This game wasn't perfect, as all other games from Spiders company wasn't too. But there was some kind of joy, and story was really exciting along with combat and enhancement systems. Now we got "GreedFall", but back then, in 2014, we had only "Mars: War Logs". "The Technomancer" is a perfect picture of how Spiders grows and matures. They had their own ideal skeleton for their products, and they just keep getting it more and more better with every step. Personally, i love all their games. Including the first one.

It's a Spiders Game

Like most RPGs, you're best to go in blind, discovering the world and lore is half of the game. Know that it's an interesting story, and a competent RPG. This is the company's most polished game next to Greedfall. Like Piranha Bytes, Spiders RPGs have their own flavor - uniquely indie. I own this and the prequel/sequel Mars War Logs on Steam - bought them here as well because of Achievements: Love 'em or hate 'em, adding them shows a company not only cares about their game, but respects you, the GOG customer - so they get my business.

unexpectedly nice

i originally got this free on Xbox Live, but didn't expect much due to the review scores the game had garnered. it turned out to be one of those occasions when games reviewers completely fail me, as i have enjoyed this one a lot, as much the The Surge in fact. i'll point out that i didn't like Mars Logs at all, and yet this one got me. a beat'em up with RPG elements, not too heavy on either, but just right for a change. had to buy it here on GOG out of respect for the developers and the desire to play it again.

From someone not familiar

I'm not familiar with spiders games and The Technomancer always kinda looked interesting when it launched but I never got around to trying it because I had heard it wasn't that great. I'm an avid rpg player and I gotta say I love this game so far. Yeah its not open world and I know that can be a deal breaker for some people but the world building, combat, and character creation was enough to keep me satisfied. Character creation is one of my biggest make or breaks when it comes to rpgs. The release of Morrowind is what made me that way :p the character creation isnt spectacular but it's enough to get your mind set into the game. The combat is suprisingly fluid, and the overal feel of the game is very classic with upgrades. The feel of everything is what you wanted from some of the older games growing up. You can tell this game built itself off the insperation of these classic titles. I think for the price you definitely get what you paid for plus some. If you really enjoy rpgs, classic games [90's-2000's] I think you'll find this title enjoyable.

It's worth checking out.

I have played the Steam version of the game, and I was quite surprised with how much I enjoyed it. The combat is somewhat reminiscent of the Batman Arkham (insert rest here) games. But that's not a bad thing at all. The lore of the world is very interesting, and while your main character is basically preset except for some superficial details, you do get to fine-tune just what kind of person he is, especially with skills and combat abilities, which even spills over into the story sometimes. The combat, discovering the world that you inhabit, exploring and getting more powerful and getting to know your allies are all positives in this game. In a way, The Technomancer reminds me of more lower-budget Mass Effect with more effort put in, better combat, more customization and no microtransaction BS. If you like science fiction this is worth checking out.
