Les joueurs incarnent Frederick Russell, un chercheur en IA et en psychologie à l’origine d’un scanner cérébral expérimental, le Dreamwalker. Sa technologie controversée permet d’explorer l’esprit à travers les informations glanées par les sens, mais aussi le domaine de l’inconscient. Il se retrouve pris dans une spirale d’intrigues lorsqu’on lui demande d’utiliser sa création, suite à la découverte du corps sans vie de la vice-présidente de la plus grande société technologique au monde.

I enjoyed this as far as it went, but while there's a wealth of interesting mechanics here, especially with the time-scrubbing and perspective puzzles, and both graphics and sound do an excellent job of surreal, unique visuals. Alas, the story ultimately falls flat, especially what feels like an endless meeting sequence in the middle and one level in particular straight from a 90s thriller. Hopefully there will be a follow-up that builds out on the mechanics, and a stronger script.
I never played such a game for years. It ranks into the top 5 games I've ever played.
If you have a scientifically orientated mind (AI) and like psychology and the nature of consciousness / mind and weird artwork this is a must have.
Awesome way to explore the consciousness. This is what I'd call an immersive game experience.

On the top of my favorite games list. Innovative concept, immersive play style, a story that changes according to your decisions, you really feel like you are there.
Exploring the memories is a very special experience, but really feels plausible. There is not too many things you can do in the memories, but still enough to have some sort of puzzling challenges. A way of solving puzzles I never saw before.
With the sound effects and graphics and ways to explore it's really has it's own, special atmosphere.
And it also contains many philosophical thoughts about our future and technology life, also makes you think about the meaning of life. I really liked it.
The game performance btw is also very good, I was playing this with "High" graphics settings on my laptop with a Geforce MX250 and it was running very smoothly. Good job Playmestudio!
Great game. Definitely worth the full price, I would even pay more. Nowadays, with the thousands of games on the market, game studios really dont' have it easy. I think we should support the developers of really good games much more.
So much to love & admire about The Signifier Director's Cut. As a story-driven,puzzle-based game, it's one of the most mature ones I've played in a very, very long time. It asks that kind of question that you find in reallly thought-provocative and well-understood sci-fi. Consequently, it scares you shitless with an ocean of possibilities you would have never thought of. In terms of design, it's as beautiful as a perfect mix of "Observer: System Redux" and "Limbo/Inside". When it comes to gameplay, it doesn't help you. Like, at all. It makes you think and think over and over again to decide what's the best path to take. And, as it happened in Bloober Team's masterpieces, you may only be aware of the decisions you made when it's actually too late to change anything. "The signifier" is that kind of game that makes your decisions count. Not in a "Life is strange" way - where decisions are part of the joy of playing- but in a tragic, life-defining way. This is an indie game that defies all expectations, packed with spine-tingling scenes and hard-as-hell puzzles. A mature, provocative, endlessly imaginative product. Kudos to the Chilean studio for creatng this awesome mix of scifi, drama & horror. An absolute must.
We really looked forward to playing this game but it quickly became an exercise in frustration. We got stuck in a weird loop after chapter one, the envelope under the door never appeared and we just kept repeating the phone call with Carl and the dream sequence over and over, finally we restarted the game and after getting to the same point again the envelope finally appeared. Everything then went okay-ish until chapter 4, when we got to the part with the creature on the balcony with the two people another bug hit and we just couldn't get past it. We found a walkthrough that said to change to the objective state and interact with the people on the balcony, but when we changed to objective the people and the creature are gone. We've spent hours stuck at this part, we've gone back to previous game saves, nothing seems to work and we just can't be bothered starting the whol chapter again because of another bug. It's uninstall time, such a shame because the game was interesting and different.
