The Shore
Description
THE SHORE is a game about the mystery of the unknown, set on a forbidden island filled with horrors. Based on the works of H. P. Lovecraft, the story features many of his best-known creations and more. Players will see the world through the eyes of Andrew, a father in search of his lost daughter. Players will experience The Shore through immersive, atmospheric gameplay and encounter the most nightmarish Lovecraftian entities, all while solving mind-bending puzzles. Try to survive as Andrew as he endeavors to save his daughter’s life and, perhaps, uncovering the secrets lurking within his own sanity.
Presented with a Lovecraftian style, As players dive deeper and deeper into the mystery, they’ll face overwhelming odds, Andrew's moments that will make you question his sanity, and a series of slow burn scenes. It’s only by mastering the artifacts of the old gods combat mechanic that they can stay one step ahead of the darkness that tries to swallow the world of his, but will that be enough?

Ok Cathulu Game
The graphics are amazing and the setting is very good also, but the game play is slow, the puzles are ssooo obtuse and the combat is turn around to point a beam at something that is faster than you and hans way to many hit points. Thats after the sart where nothing can be killed. All the get to the end very quickly. The game is very short. But the visuals and lore made me stick with it all the way through. All and all an ok Cathulu game.

Obtuse and Meandering
It's slow and plodding, even for a walking simulator. There's definitely some chicken-pulley puzzles ala old school adventure games that are NOT flattering. The game just doesn't respect your time. The puzzles are not explained at all and they're so far apart from each other you'll spend so much of your time holding down shift running back and forth trying to figure them out. The writing is very amateurish. Feels more like a Kaiju game than a Lovecraft game. If 'big tentacle monster scary' is all you want out of the source material, it might be worth it on sale.

Well, graphic wise is gorgeous, the music composition is superb but poorly mixed. The gameplay...it is a walking simulator with minor combat scenes. It's more like a playable story but with more interectivity than usual, aspiring to be a puzzle game. The screenplay and story , as it moves through the set pieces, feels disconected from each other but not from the presented world, so it works but not great. A step in the righ direction, just needs more time ands budget. If you're a Lovecraft fan, buy, even if you're not but like horror buy it too...it's 10 euro and overall an above average concept and end product. In the end, a beautiful and scary guided tour to the world of the Old Ones.
