Description
Russell Stone is a Rabbi at a poor synagogue in New York City. He is a devout man with a problem. Membership is way down and he lacks the funds to keep his synagogue open. Things are looking very bleak, and he has grown progressively more cynical and bitter with the passage of time. Just as he is on the verge of packing it all in, he receives some interesting news. A former member of his congregation has died and left the Rabbi a significant amount of money. A blessing? Or the start of something far more sinister? Can Rabbi Stone just accept the money and move on? His conscience says no. Step into his shoes as he travels all over Manhattan in his attempt to uncover the truth.

Short but Thoughtful

A very interesting entry from Wadjet Eye. I dare say I've never even heard of a detective mystery with a rabbi protagonist, so this was a change of pace in terms of setting, and despite the very short length has a lot of extra content (multiple endings, bloopers, commentary) to give you your moneys worth. Especially amusing are the little references to other games (fans of the Blackwell saga will recognize the redhead in the bar seemingly talking to herself) which makes this game a small, but enjoyable gem.

Nice noir one (for one evening)

Do not expect this to be a big game in terms of playing hours, or in puzzle depth. It is not. Total playing time might be about 2-3 hours, puzzle depth is more on the beginner side. It makes up for this by the presentation and atmosphere, both are well beyond expectations. Pro Very well executed in terms of catching the player into the story Con Short. 5 Stars, keeping in mind this went for around 1 € and change.

A Very Short though interesting game

An extremely short game with some obscure puzzles (Figuring out what password a character would set for their computer type of thing), I'd pick it up on sale not full price, was an enjoyable diversion for less than 2 hours.

Makes fun, lasts short

You can expect quite a good, but very short adventure-experience. The story is told in ernest, the main character has quite some depth and you may enjoy a atmosphere filled with melancholy. The fights remember the good old days of Monkey Island and are really a highlight of the game. On the other hand, there are very few puzzles and it will be over after 3-4 hours. Puzzles like "combine A with B" are missing completely. The grafic is outdated, but charming, if you like it retro (and you do, beeing here on GOG, true? ;)). If you look at it like an interactive movie, than you will really like this game.
