I tried out many solutions found around the internet (getting dll files, old Windows compability), but couldn't get the game to start up.

Does not work under Windows 10
No chance of getting it to work under windows 10, none of the suggested fixes online could get rid of the "abnormal runtime termination" error. It´s just thrown away money in the current state.
