Good times
It is basically Settlers 2 in better graphics with some minor tweaks that makes thing easier on the micromanagement side, the only bad thing about this game is its network code causing all the animations to twitch very often :-/

Great fun... until it crashes.
Road building, laying out your resources and industries, was the aspect of The Settlers that I missed in the later games. This edition has the roads and the ever patient carriers, so you can construct the perfect supply chains. I love that you can zoom in and just enjoy your minions at work. But for me this edition was buggy and always crashed, locking up my computer. I tried all the trouble shooting from GOG and elsewhere. Nothing worked. Maybe if I get a new machine of graphics card I will try again.

Second best game in series
After Settlers 2 this is 2nd best game in this series. I am only sad that you cant bu Vikings DLC anymore, anywhere. Maybe someday GOG will acquitre rights to sell them on there srevice

Overall, it's a pretty good remake.
Overall, it's a pretty good remake. Probably the best settlers game during the ubisoft era. Unfortunately, the graphics isn't as good as in the original title and they removed one of the factions just to sell it to you through expansion pack (..which wasn't even available outside of Germany and Poland), but it's still a nice game. If you can't stomach pixelart of the original game, this remake is just for you.

I love this since I am but a small child
Only thing I dislike is that due to it being not the viking version, we don´t get many of the other campaign or the card editor. It dulls the exhilaration I get out of it.
