Blade Runner meets LA Noire
The Red Strings Club is like watching a favorite movie for the first time. Every twist and tuArn in the narrative is earned and surprising. At first, the switches in mechanics and setting are completely arresting, but quickly begin to make sense as the story weaves a cohesive and well thought-out story. While other games get lost in trying to make an abstract commentary on society, The Red Strings Club is focused on the conversations it wants you to have and leaves them as they are; conversations. The game makes you wrestle with ideas and ethical delimmas through conrete examples that never feel non-sensical or pandering. The soundtrack and setting are top-notch and the characters are thoroughly interesting and unique. This game is a short one, but packs a punch. Highly reccomend for anyone who enjoys story-driven games with moderately-difficult-to-master-but-easy-to-learn mechanics.
