Fun adventure

Funny and quirky game, I liked it overall. Nice graphics and setting, great voice acting, easy to control UI. Unfortunately, the puzzles were often illogical (some even deliberately misdirect you), so the game often devolved into mindlessly trying all possible combinations until discovering that you just have to talk to a character one more time. So, my recommendation for new players: talk to each character multiple times exhausting all lines of dialogue, and as soon as you don't know what to do, click on the help button. This will smooth out the gameplay. Also, don't forget to save often. I crashed multiple times losing all my progress. The game has three difficult puzzles, and I somehow managed to solve them without the hints, but for two of them my solution was not at all what was explained by the narrator after solving them, and the last one I solved by clicking randomly and I have no idea what was the trick.

Recommended

I'd never even heard of this game before. I took a chance and was rewarded with a gorgeously presented and very engaging point and click adventure. Writing and visual design are strong, as is the voice acting. There are a couple of very tricky puzzles and the game's wacky humor requires some creative thinking at times. I will definitely be replaying this game in the future.

Most dis... concerting

What an excellent point and click surprise. My expectations were rather low, and I ended up enjoying it like I haven't enjoyed a game of this kind in a long time. It's quirky and zany, but in a way that is not random at all, as a lot of thought and creativity has clearly gone into the script, the unconventional narrative, the realization of the game world and all the little details. The last act loses a lot of steam, as scenarios are skimped out on, and events are abbreviated in a rather abrupt way, but it still makes for a satisfying narrative experience, if a bit on the short side. Both main characters are sympathetic and fully realized, even if one of them is just a well done "jerk with a soft spot", and the NPCs are no slouches either, with some genuinely funny bits spread throughout. With great sound design, beautiful graphics (with the odd glitch here and there and a weird flickering in moving characters when the background moves), a (maybe overly) simple interface and (at times a little too) easy puzzles, this is a a done-in-one gaming experience for some good, hearty chuckles. Highly recommended.

Bon potentiel, quelques problèmes...

La direction artistique fait beaucoup penser à Runaway, rien d’étonnant puisque ce jeu a été créé par les développeurs de cette licence ! Les environnements sont variés et plutôt beaux à regarder... N'oublions pas le chara design qui est tout aussi réussi ! L'intrigue en elle-même est convenue mais elle est sauvée par son univers original et déjanté ! Les protagonistes sont amusants avec Liz la "folle" et Dan le sarcastique. Tous les personnages dégagent de la sympathie même et surtout les "méchants". La mise en scène n'est pas en reste et nous offre des cinématiques de bonne qualité. En terme de bande son, c'est tout à fait correct et les voix françaises sont remarquables. La possibilité de mettre ou non des indices est très bien. Je ne peux que vous encourager à les activer car ce système participe à la narration. Hélas, yout n'est pas rose : - Scènes cinématiques qui se bloquent : j'ai eu deux fois ce soucis (quand on ramasse un objet important) et je n'ai eu d'autre choix que de faire fermer le jeu et relancer, - Énigmes buguées : je pense à celle avec les fleurs, le principe est facile à comprendre mais quand on clique dessus, certaines n'émettent aucun son bah du coup... On est réduit à tenter tous les combinaisons... Ça serait que ça... Le truc c'est que l'emplacement de chaque son change à chaque essai... Je vous laisse imaginer... Besoin d'être patchée ! Doté d'une narration teintée d’absurde, The Next BIG Thing est un point-and-click à essayer sans hésiter. On regrettera sa faible durée de vie qui n’excédera pas six heures au maximum. Le monde présenté est intéressant et on ne peut qu'espérer avoir l’opportunité d'y revenir !

Je recommande ce pointer cliquer, je m'y suis bien amusé, l'histoire est intéressante et, chose rare avec Pandulo, il peut se faire sans soluces !
