Best adventure game in history?

Just replayed this game after 6 or 7 years, and must say that it is still one of the best, if not the best, adventure games ever released. The story is fascinating with a few twists and turns that will surprise you. The world is filled with loads of characters that you grow to love and care about. The graphics have aged, but some scenery remains beautiful to this day. Some puzzles are ridiculously absurd and a guide will come in handy, although you will find some brilliant ones as well. Overall fully recommended.

Doesn't work on Windows 11

I'm giving 1 star just because the game simply doesn't launch. I was very excited to check this classic title out, but unfortunately I have to make a refund.

A Work of Art

I never thought any adventure game that wasn't published by Lucasarts would ever live up to my expectations but I could not have been more wrong about the Longest Journey. The only other video game that has ever had as much of an impact on me is Silent Hill 2. The visuals are stunning, the dialogue is brilliantly written and the puzzles are perfectly balanced. This game is simply a must-have.

Not worth the pain

I really can't understand the glowing reviews (both here and elsewhere) of this game. It has many memorable qualities such as the artwork and some good ideas, but they are stretched way too thinly with the result that the game is simply boring. I really did try to push on with it but after several returns to it I decided to stop banging my head against the wall. It just isn't worth the investment in time. Like some Swedish films - terribly worthy but would you really spend your time watching it. Just not enjoyable, sorry (and I am an adventure game fan).

The King of Adventure Games

This is a game I've played several times over and referred it to friends. It is without a doubt the adventure games others wish they could be. The story is deep, and gets more involved the further you go. The characters feel very real, voice acting is spot on most of the time. You feel you are truly emersed in an engaging. Some breathtaking scenery (nice art), music fits, actions are quite intuitive and the puzzles make sense and make you engage your brain enough that you aren't overly frustrated. (You want some challenge or it isn't fun) Long story short, this is an adventure game must for fans. There are some small adolesent sexual jokes so for family I suggest a PG-13 rating. Some people have said this game is long and it is. But you don't want it to end.
