The Legend Of Crystal Valley

A missing father, a mystical portal and a young woman looking for answers makes The Legend Of Crystal Valley a must play. In this point and click adventure game we follow Eve who has just discovered that her father is missing, More intriguing is the glowing portal that Eve has discovered. Come along as she collexts clues, travels between scenes and meets a host of colorful characters on her search for her father. Crystal Valley will come alive. This is one awsome game, it is better than the original. The speech is quite good and the characters can talk. In the original game You had to read everything on the screen. The graphics in the game are awsome and make the game come to life. If you do not know how to play the game, there is a tutorial that You can watch to learn how the game is played. This game is some what better than Monkey Island. The story line is rich and will keeep You entertained for hours. The characters are quite interesting to talk to and no one dies in the game. The puzzles are good. You will have lots of fun playing this game. This is an engrossing adventure and well worth the price.

Punches a little above it's weight

This wasn't getting a whole lot of attention, so I thought I'd try it too so that I can review it. The game isn't subpar but it isn't really what you would expect from a major finished commerical game, either. If you look at the page here, you kind of already know to expect that. It's seemingly an indie team. I went back and looked at games from it's era, even though I lived then... The graphics while not absymal, aren't the best the era had to offer. They didn't bother me though. The voice acting, is all very NPC-like voice acting, some of it sounds like they pulled the janitor out of the closet to voice a few lines... However, the game's strengths overcome this. The dialogue is clever enough, but sometimes it runs on. However, clearly someone made an effort to write an interesting story and think this whole thing out. The puzzles and mischeif is where it really excels. Some of the puzzles are easy, then there's challenging ones that are still intuitive and quite frankly enjoyable. You feel accomplished. The game even makes you feel clever solving some of it's easier puzzles. The protagonist, steals, lies, breaks into homes, cheats...It's amazing, it's awesome. I prefer adventure games that make you chuckle, when a character does precisely what they shouldn't do to get ahead in life. She's a literal THUG! The game also ironically has some sort of weird altruistic thing going on that's kind of fun, you go around paying it forwards the entire game as you also do things that are pretty rotten to people... When people mouth off to her, she puts them in their place... she seems to have down inner work, therapy... Honestly, I have 4 adventure games I'm playing,of which are from bigger publishers but the atmosphere, the puzzles and whatever else this game has going for it, made it my go to every day I sat down to play a game. It keeps you interested, hooked. I could have walked away, I didn't. I'd recommend this to genre fans . Probably a once over.

Interesting old fashion 3D adv. game

Well, the animations of the main character are more suggested than executed, that is when the main character takes something, eats something... In this way it looks like old 3D adventure games with fixed scenery. Else the story seems interesting... til now... I will see in the future... I am at the beginning of the game. To play, the ENTER key is very useful in order not to miss any object of each scenery... try it... it will help. I am sorry that it is not translated into French. If it were possible to translate the subtitles... Please... But happily the English is not too difficult.

Feels like a college project

I feel like a college professor grading a student. If someone submitted this game as a final project for a programming course I'd give it good marks - it runs, some bugs but not too many, etc. But as a commercial game it significantly fails. I'll forgive the horrible 2009 graphics. But the ridiculous dialogue! The horrendous voice acting! The complete lack of coherence in the plot! The very unpolished UI! It's unfortunately too disorganized to even land in the 'so bad it's good' camp. Maybe it's better in a non-english language? Who knows. In a world of many many games to play, it is impossible to see how your time would be best spent with this one.
