A worthy heir to Lucasart style games
This is what video games are about, the game is heartfelt, intelligent, and fun. In the world we live in, that means commercial failure, and the third part of the trilogy may never see the light of day. No matter, the game is valuable as is. One of the few really memorable games I've played in the last decade.

It's okay.
I don't think The Fall is a bad game. But it is a bit bland in some ways. Puzzles are really not much more than bringing certain items and testing them with certain objects and hoping you get something. Sometimes the connections are fairly obvious and other times they can go over your head and feel tedious. The combat is a bit simple and at times can be a little annoying, but its serviceable. The real strength of The Fall is its story and it all has to do with choice, free-will and the rules that we apply to ourselves and it does this extremely well, which is quite amusing considering that its a fairly linear game. It does end on a cliff-hanger, which can be unsatisfying for some, but personally, I was okay with it. If the sequel never materialized, I would be okay with this as an ambiguous ending. Thankfully, the sequel does exist. All in all, the Fall is a decent game. It has a good story with decent gameplay with a fairly short-runtime. I definitely enjoyed my time with this game, but its got its flaws. If you are considering this game, I'd say get it on sale.

Superb, but short
Really grate story and atmosphere. Normal price is quite steep for the first chapter in a longer story, but at sale it's well worth buying. When the third chapter is released it should be sold as a complete bundle at like 15$ or something similar because this took me like 4 hours to complete and that feels very short for the full price.

VERY cool idea
The Fall is a very interesting title, but definitely one that could be taken farther. The story is fairly direct and simple, but keeps it’s feel and interest from beginning to end with everyone and everything feeling just “right.” But it is also incomplete, ending with a “To Be Continued” screen as we wait for a part two that while guaranteed now, was not at launch. The mechanics work well enough for the game itself, but they are a lot more awkward to to switch modes then is necessary, slowing the game down a bit artificially. And the puzzles run the gamut of easy to classic Sierra-game level hard and obscure. Really the only thing here without compromise is the performance of our voice actors, but at the same time, they really bring this game to life in their own right, adding amazing atmosphere and feel to the experience. Without them, this would be a really cool idea with a mixed bag of execution, but they will hold your interest and keep you glued to the plot. If you are into atmospheric titles and not afraid of a little awkwardness or a lot of challenge in the puzzles you will face, this is definitely a title to check out. But if you are looking for your action fix, walk away now.

A short little gem
A short but sweet little game with a great pay off. Belter story that had me hooked till the end. Look forward to playing part 2.
