Description




Antiquarian Thomasina Bateman is writing a book on the barrows of England, documenting the treasures she finds buried within. When an intriguing letter summons her to the small village of Bewlay, tucked away in the remote countryside, she sets off by train with her assistant a day behind.

Upon her arrival, however, the mysterious man who summoned her is nowhere to be found. Her assistant never arrives. A stubborn landowner refuses access to the barrow, and the locals are wary of this woman who is traveling alone and (gasp!) wears trousers.

The excavation of Hob’s Barrow is off to a rocky start. And then Thomasina starts having strange dreams…




  • A dark, complex and evolving storyline featuring interwoven elements from real English folklore.

Like the good old ones

If you like classic Point & Click, this is a no-brainer. Well made, none-too-hard puzzles (the fact that I finished it is a solid tell), and a decent storyline to boot. The graphics and acting really keep you in the world. Also, good technical work - no jank, no crashes to be seen. Hard recommend.

Enjoyable Adventure

Really enjoyed this dark tale. Got stuck in a few places when I just couldn't think (smol brain) of where to go or what to do but I still had fun.

One of the best adventures I've played

The atmosphere is brilliant, the voice acting top-notch. Really nice music. The puzzles are not too difficult, and do not fall into the absurd.

The Excavation of Hob's Barrow

I really enjoyed The Excavation of Hob's Barrow. The puzzles aren't too complicated, the dialogue and voice acting are fab, and the story well thought out. Personally, I liked the ending. I thought it fitted well with what happened throughout the game and the atmosphere created by dialogue and events.
