Main goal of this project is to honour one the best classic cRPG and take the die-hard fans of the original Gothic trilogy as well as new players on one more adventure in the Kingdom of Myrtana.

STORY
Kingdom of Myrtana, a country whose foundations crumble under the winds of war and unrest raging throughout its lands. Experience the events that forged the original Gothic storyline and see with your own eyes how the creation of the Valley of Mines impacted people far away from the main continent.Make your mark in a brutal world where your every decision has a clear impact on its environment and the lives of those you meet on your path.
Play as Marvin, a young man who was driven away from his home by the war looming over the horizon. The reality of the Archolos, a place he runs to, unfortunately proves to be far from his expectations. Rich merchants craving only for more gold, servants of the king Rhobar II who put into practice every new and more restrictive laws and waves of desperate refugees who just like the protagonist search for a decent life. Marvin will have to find a way to survive in this land of treachery, opportunism and opposing interests.
You are not the chosen hero, you are not a villain. You are a survivor.
Will you take everything you want by the force? Or will you try to help others in need?

Truly feels like a classic Gothic game
Yes, there are quite a few fetch quests, particularly in the early game. Yes, many quests require an unnecessary amount of backtracking. But screw that: if you liked Gothic 1+2, this is the real deal. You have a huge and beatiful world to explore. Carefully hand-crafted, with something interesting to find around every corner. Interesting and wacky characters to meet. And complex quests with alternative solutions to complete. I enjoyed all 100 hours of my first playthrough. Don't forget to tip the devs if you had as much fun as I did ;)

This game is amazing! Soundtrack, story, atmosphere, world building...everything is top notch. It also got random events that happens in the city and the world. Best of all....it is free!

Who comes here and expects modern graphics will be disapointed. But real Gothic fans get immersed in the story and they do not care so much about the graphics. 20 years after the first game , this mod uses G2 engine and graphic but is used to tell a story , almost a prequel into thing to come. Game suffers with a few bugs but there are a few workaround them. The most annoying are the corrupt savings so be sure so save alternatively in different slots to not be forced to replay big chunks. There are places in the story where there is too much detail into one direction and too few into another. Combat somehow is a bit broken. For instance after getting to like 100 STR and using a edge/blunt weapon [ vulnerability/immunity not taken into account ] and not being able to one shot weak enemies like young boars or molerats, swampflies ... I found it a bit enerving having to hit some of those for like 3 or 4 times before dying. Thats why what I can recommend is using MARVIN mode + cheat god enabled til around chapter 3 [ sometimes even after that ]. But this one is personal choice. P.S. I see what you did here dear devs with MARVIN mode and the "that's me" xD Near the end of game you either play 2-3 hours then restart the game or you encounter crashes, so be warned. Your actions in the game do not affect a lot of things except a few angry npcs toward you and final credits where you see what happens with the people your encountered. [small spoiler ] P.S. 2 A fun fact regarding one possible end is the story continuation the devs did with Gothic 1. How Marvin gets sent to Khorinis and is able to keep Volker's sword. With all the scars on his face, and seeing how that blade looks its a 101% guarantee that he becomes Scar from Gothic 1 xD All in all this fals perfect into the Gothic universe. The mod is FREE and is a lot better then a lot of crappy 70$ pc games released lately .. forbroken , jedi bug, bug fall, the last bug ... etc etc Not enough love

The true Gothic III - RPG of the decade
TLDR: It's outstanding. Play it. Not only is Gothic 2 still actively modded and relevant till today, but as a 3-in-1 game one of the best bang for the buck RPG purchases you can make, ever. After the bug-ridden mess that was G3 fell flat modders have taken it upon themselves to create the true third installment of the fantastic Gothic franchise - to show that even after 20 years, Gothic's formula still outplays many streamlined mass-consumer AAA titles of today. Having played and modded Gothic 1&2 extensively I will compare CoM:A against the former best full length G2 mod to date: Legend of Ahssûn and the original G2:NotR. Tips 1. Before you start, do install the dev-recommended DX11 mod by SaiyansKing (google or navigate here: https://github.com/SaiyansKing/GD3D11/releases -> choose the latest zip in the Assets' drop down menu, download and unpack the zip to drop it directly in C:/.../TheChroniclesofMyrtana/System, then merge.). Done in 3 min - looks so much better! 2. Dialogue isn't voiced other than in Polish as of yet. Still, immersion benefits surprisingly and I do recommend adding it even if you don't speak a word of Polish. 3. If loading a Savegame seems not to work, don't fret. Instead, wait (1 min upwards). 4. Enable Quicksave by locating Gothic.ini in your ../System folder, ctrl+f to find "useQuickSaveKeys=0" and set it to "useQuickSaveKeys=1". It isn't tested, so use at your own risk and save manually often. 5. Don't use Alt+Tab, instead use Alt+Esc. Verdict: CoM:A and Legend of Ahssun In 20 years, Gothic 2 has recieved two of the best total conversions I've ever played (and finished multiple times) for any game available. You basically buy 3 full games with hours of content and fully handcrafted new worlds each. G2:LoA: 9,5/10 - 35-60 h G2:ComA: 10/10 - 60-80 h G2:NotR L'Hiver: 10/10 for nostalgia (but probably really a 9/10) - 40-80 h G2:Velaya: 7,5/10 (honourable mention) - 30 h
