A solid mid
Its a unique experience and not bad for a quick playthrough. The combat is the weakest part, its always a grind, never all that fun. The story is alright, but the humor gets a bit one note. The final tower is a slog, the game slows down a lot towards the end.

Le jeu n'est peut-être pas mauvais en soi mais il est terriblement fade. L'histoire n'a rien de passionnant, c'est juste du porte-monstre-trésor tout ce qu'il y a de plus basique. Les mécaniques des menus sont assez rigides. On se rend vite compte qu'on peut très bien passer son temps à esquiver et laisser le chien et les invocations combattre à notre place - même si ça va prendre bien plus de temps parce qu'ils sont plutôt faibles. Les critiques citées le dépeignent comme un jeu hilarant, très franchement je n'ai pas ri une seule fois. Le seul truc qui m'a fait sourire à un moment c'est qu'on peut pousser le bétail pour le faire tomber. C'est rigolo, cinq secondes. De plus, première interaction avec un PNJ, c'est pour que la caméra fasse une vue plongeante sur le décolleté de l'aubergiste. Chouette... Bref, clairement, le jeu ne brille ni par son intelligence, ni par sa capacité à divertir. Il y a quelques bonnes idées qui, malheureusement, ne suffisent pas à le sauver. Heureusement que le jeu n'est pas cher (et encore, achetez-le en solde, en dessous de 10€ voire 5€).

Tales of the unknown disaster.
I so hate to give one of my favorite games of all time a bad review. But I bought the game to play bards tale, tales of the unknown. But the only thing that was unknown was what inxile was thinking when they made this port. They chose the worst possible version of the original bards tale to port over, it doesnt run in dosbox, it runs in some weird emulator that doesnt work well. The graphics manage to look even worse than the dos version. It randomly locks up. The character creation tool is clunkier than the dos or commodore 64 version. Oh and what happened to the construction set? Ohh you also cant run it in windowed mode, which is essential when dealing with games that ran originally in 640x480 Really what were they thinking, now none of this applies to the bards tale remake game which I never played and really have no interest in playing . This is about the original. This is coming from someone who has played many classic dos games, including pool of radiance and Ultima 4, so its not like Ive never played a classic game before. Gog really needs to release a version seperate from this horrible disaster. Especially since this is the only legal way to get the original bards tale. To quote Angry Joe, you done messed it up!
