Great artwork, two games in one

I do have a bit of experience with visual novels and also liked the presentation here. The art is great, and I liked the "Western style cyberpunk world" with some other elements. You also get two games in one or at least two "realities", as you have to make a choice who to follow early in the game. Some locations are shared, but the "routes" feel very different. However, I feel it would have had more potential. I did experience some quite deep and meaningful intimate moments and also liked the character development. But it did not get as far as advertised (with the uncensoring patch installed). There are few interactive possibilities to influence that, and the choices are mostly subtle. It looks like you really have to follow the choice guide to unlock the full potential.

A well-crafted, romantic Story

Synthetic Lover is a somewhat cyberpunk / noire, yet well-made story game. The soundtrack is pleasant, the story keeps you going. *WARNING! Maybe Spoilers Ahead!* If you take the most reasonable options, there won't be much romancing among the characters. And even though there are adult themes present, they're rather toned down. A few more "even if you play it safely, there's some spicy options" possibilites would be nice. TL;DR: If you're into a BL / yaoi story game and Synthetic Lover is on a sale - go for it!

I have only played the common and Teerance's good ending. Omg the voice acting and story is soooo good

The "game" part is very small, most of this is just reading a graphical novel. But there are some rare decision times, and those decisions affect what story line you get dramatically. Sometimes several decisions early on will stack against you and affect the ending, but it's incredibly hard to know which decisions affected what (without either trying 1000 possiblities, or looking up a guide). The novel was ok unless you were hoping for a lot of erotic content. The prize for selecting the right choices tends to be an image, which typically isn't overly erotic anyway. It's like it wants you to create the sexual content in your head. Most of the story line revolves around the political and social implications of this fantastic world, so if you're hoping for adult content this may not do it for you.
