Beautiful game with a fascinating story

I like p&c-adventures with good, interesting stories. When I have the time. For different reasons I have not played Syberia earlier, but I have heard a lot about it, so I finally decided to try it out. Conclusion: it exceeded all my expectations, and the game is certainly worth its praise. A well written story with interesting characters, beautiful graphics, good puzzles and several places to explore. I am glad I have played it, at last.

One of the best adventure games ever

Syberia 1 & 2 are one of my favorite pc games of all time. The story is very good, as is the graphics. Being a mechanical engineer, loved all the automatons. Loved the clockwork train that zips along as well as any other train. Very few really good adventure games anymore. Which is unfortunate. I can't get into run amok, shoot em up games (pacifist). I've played all the Myst games, The Longest Journey series and all the other top rated adventure games and would put Syberia 1 & 2 in the top 5. Original Longest Journey has a better story. Exile was just great, as was Uru. Was a real treat to get this game again, especially for free. Original one was long gone to who knows where. For any true adventure gamer, this game has to be in their library!

Great game, but buggy port

The game is Good but the Mac version is buggy. There is a part on the bottom that's cut off, so readable items are not showing entirely.

Old school point and click with flaws

World feels desolate, which matches thematically with the story, but when each location has maybe only one character it's a bit weird. Some of the puzzles are a bit obscure. Otherwise, the story and music are nice and well worth a look!

Needs fast travel

Indeed this game is beautiful, atmospheric and intelligent and yet somewhat depressing. My greatest gripe with this game is that it suffers from the same issue which is found in several early third person point and click games, i.e., the character takes too long to travel between places. And this makes the game tediously and unnecessarily long. I know a lot of effort went into making this game and the creators really wanted the gamers to experience the beauty of the game, but travelling long distances only to find out that was not the right place to visit, was annoying. This happens throughout the game. Unless, you are using a walkthrough to solve puzzles, it becomes boring quite easily.
