Unique in that it provides a realistic Rules of Engagement system and an authentic tactical experience, SWAT 4 has gone on to inspire later games such as Cruelty Squad, Ready or Not, Rainbow Six: Siege and Doorkickers. Although overshadowed by Irrational's next big release - Bioshock - SWAT 4 has remained popular within its niche over the years due to its immersive cooperative multiplayer and compelling environmental storytelling.
SWAT: Elite Force fixes many of the game's original bugs and consolidates the vanilla and expansion campaigns into one coherent experience, while restoring cut content and adding many important modernization and Quality of Life features. The additions and changes are designed to augment the vanilla game's experience without feeling out of place. The mod is entirely open-source and has been spun off into many other community mods, and is often considered the de-facto way to play the game.

Awesome Mod for an already awesome game!
I actually bought SWAT 4 here on GOG just to play Elite Force COOP with a friend, It adds lots of new weapons and different loadouts, i think there were new commands for the AI teammates, and adds support for wide screen resolutions and FOV settings...it expends an already amazing game while keeping the game's original flavor

Its a must have
I used this mod since a couple years now. In my eyes, these are the highlights: -Tons of replayability added -Missing/ planned content added back in the game, games feel more complete and polished -More coherent mission listing and single-player experience -Multiplayer fully working on this mod, flawlessly in most cases. -Game get slightly harder , more challenging. (penalties , AI overhaul , more impredictability) -The mod keep it real with the base game, nothing feels out of place -The 2 extra maps are a welcome addition. -Huge number of quality of life improvements The mod description is accurate. I think the SEF experience is actually the best way to play Swat 4 nowadays. This mod have almost no downside. For what it adds to the base game, I say take it 100 % of the time, especially if you have already finished the game. I give this mod a overall rating of 95/100.

Best way to enjoy swat 4
🇬🇧 (french bellow) This mod is the best way to enjoy SWAT 4, in particular because it supports modern screen resolutions. If you play on linux (heroic launcher for me), note that: - you will have to point to alternate "exe": `Games/Heroic/SWAT Elite Force/SEF/LaunchSEF.bat` - you will have to replace this "bat" file content with: ``` @echo off cd .\System\ ..\..\ContentExpansion\System\Swat4X.exe REM Tell the user that the game has exited ECHO SWAT: Elite Force has exited ``` 🇫🇷 Ce mod est la meilleure façon de jouer à SWAT 4, ne serait-ce que pour le support des résolutions plus récentes. Best mod for the game
If you are doing a first playthrough use this mod it combines the maps from both the main game and the expansion while overhauling some of the gameplay adding features that were originally cut from the game and adding more items and weapons to use in the loadout menu. If you have a mic you can use the speech recognition feature that comes with this mod so you can command your team with your voice which is really cool and unique since there are very few game that have something like this.
