Nice shooter but too invasive story
Superhot is a fps shooter in which the time moves only when you move. You have to kill number of enemies and proceed to the next level. Not a very innovative idea but, thanks to the time mechanics, you can plan your move and will make you feel like a character in a Matrix movie or a John Who. There is a lot of satisfaction in punching an enemy, take his gun, shoot him in the face and repeat with the next one. In the last level you will also learn an ability in which you can shift between the enemies body. This can easily save your life and turn the situation at your advantage. The gameplay itself is funny but sometimes frustrating, especially because the enemies seems to best snipers in the universe. Also it is not clear how big is your hitbox since most of the time I was killed by bullets that looked not that close to me. So why 4 star? Because of the story! It is not actually bad but it break the pace too much. You are a gamer that receive a game named Superhot by a friend. Soon the software will start to "mess" with the player by teasing him with kind of weak treat. Every time this moment happen I was like "Can I go back shooting people?" but the game just keep you away from it. It also want you to type which it translated in reality by just smashing random buttons to form pre-created lines. If you consider that the story last barely 1 hour, this moments felt very boring. Luckly once the campaign is done you can unlock endless mode and also some challenges that will enjoy you. Overall I don't know if this game worth the full price or not because as I said the gameplay is really funny but the story pieces break the pace too much. Numerically speaking, it is a 7.5/10, so a 3 star and half in my opinion. However since GoG doesn't not allow half star, I decided to go for 4 instead of 3.

Play after watching some action movies
I really enjoyed the game for its originality and and fun experience. Time moves when you move I mean it's cool to even imagine if you could do that in real life. But here's the thing. this game is NOT worth that much money at all. Would recommend it but not right now. Get it on a sale . a big one. Like you know 40% off or so. then you'll really enjoy it

SUPERHOT
No plot, no reason for anything, just killing red guys. What else do you need?

Great gameplay, annoying story
TLDR: Great gameplay and level design but the story is irritating and you don't get a lot of content for the price. The good: I gave this 4 stars because I think it is worth a try. The gameplay combines a turn based feel with time pressure and action. I have never played a game quite like this and it is a lot of fun. You will find yourself thinking of time itself as a resource and thinking tactically as well as learning to aim and lead shots in a world where time isn't fixed. It makes you think about time in a unique way. The levels are well designed and you can tell a lot of thought was put into enemy and weapon positioning to create one or more optimal paths and it is a lot of fun to experiment and find these. The bad: The story is not just poorly written but it actively interferes with your experience. Every few levels I was whisked away into a story sequence and roll my eyes. Rather than a story the game just takes you aside and harasses you for a bit before you can get to the rest of the content. It is played as creepy or meta but I have no investment in my character whatsoever and there is no agency at all. There is not even the illusion agency to be pulled away from your character to make a point. The story sequences are little more than cut scenes that require you to do something to make them go faster. It feels like the story sequences are intentionally slow and unskippable to pad out the playthrough time.
