Superhero League of Hoboken

This is a light adventure game with a small bit of comedy. As an RPG its super weak, like Dragon Warrior I on the NES weak. Its an atypical RPG setting, and has a tongue-in-cheek superhero theme. I would say the story and gameplay cannot hold a candle to contemporary works of genius like Monkey Island I and II or Star Control II, but if you've played those and are looking for more, Superhero League could be for you. I'd recommend buying it, but return within the first couple hours if it doesn't grab you. If you don't like it right away you won't like it after ten hours.

Superhero League of Hoboken is a fun-to-play older DOS Box game. Easy to get into, it has an over-the-top sense of humor. The characters are creative (especially the adversary's that you will bump into), and the voice-overs are top notch. The game is stable, runs well on Windows 7 and is fun as hell.

Kind a unique game does not take itself seriously, and its about super heroes, I just love to give it to a spin.

A great setting and writing, as always, from Steve Meretzky. But the gameplay is simply boring: simplistic rpg mechanics, a plain world map without anything too distinguish the different areas and villages and average adventure puzzles. Play it if you care only for the story and the zanny setting.

Most of the game is pretty fun and goofy. Some of the late game enemies are a bit too thick though even with their weaknesses and my party at max level. Well okay maybe I was supposed to use the upgrade foods and such, but money is finite (because the enemies are finite too).
