Stardew Valley

I have never played a Harvest Moon game, that is what I hear this most commonly compared to, so I am unsure if they're similar. What I do know to compare it to is Farmville except it has all of the good things of Farmville, none of the bad, and a metric shittonne of amazing features and activities added. You start out as a corporate drone living your life in a small cubicle and feeling the life and happiness drained from you every day. Once you get to your farm it is completely overgrown and you have to take it back from the wilderness (which takes quite a bit of time with tools that haven't been upgraded) in order to actually start planting your crops. Eventually you can make enough money to build spaces for livestock and make even more money. Even though you can make 20k gold at a time during the second year it goes out just as fast as it came in (I am part way through my second year and still have yet to keep my money for any amount of time and haven't even gotten into livestock yet!). There are also caves to explore, mine ore and precious stones, and fight monsters (the slimes look just like the Dragon Quest slimes) while trying to find your way to the bottom. There are also plenty of townspeople to become friends with and some singles to make your spouse. Overall the game is simply outstanding! The ONLY other game that has kept my attention for this long (where I know it is 2 A.M. but I have to play one more day) is Civilization. The upside is that it has many many more things to do than Civ and many more ways to make gold that just farm crops or tend to livestock. This game is my GOTY, it is one of the most fun games I have played in the last year and keeps my attention like Morrowind (even after all of these years) because I know there is so much more to experience and so much more to see and explore! Everyone who thinks this game might be fun just needs to go ahead and purchase it, you will not regret it!

Stardew valley est un jeu sur lequel on peut vite passer une soirée sans voir le temps passer. Le gameplay paraît très simple au premier abords mais au fil du jeu on se rend compte que tout est très bien pensé. Le jeu grouille de petits détails qui donnent l'impression d'être dans un monde unique, et c'est un plaisir de redécouvrir les terrains dans les différentes saisons. Très bonne surprise, je le recommande de tout coeur. Le jeu fonctionne très bien sous Linux, en plus de 40h de jeu, je n'ai pas vu un seul bug.

This game won my heart during a stressfull time in my life. It's one of the best ever created. If you're feeling crushed by life check this one out. There's nothing quite like it. Enjoy!

It's a cute game, but there is a TON of repetition of "manual labor" (constant clicking) to get ingredients or resources and it takes a long time to do. Watering plants every day gets really old too because it takes forever as well. I found the premise good, but ultimately it is frustrating to keep having to do the same thing over and over and over. If you aren't into the rural lifestyle or don't like digging a lot for resources, I don't think this game is for you.

Stardew Valley gets everything it aims for just perfectly: it's cosy, it's colorful, it has a great soundtrack, charismatic characters, and its gameplay is simply just impeccable.
