Wonderful Game!
This game is such a great value! There is so much to explore and collect. If you like Terraria, you'll love Starbound!

More than it used to be
When I saw this game last time, it was basically "yet another procedurally-generated sandbox". Since then, it became so much more. Since then, it acquired an actual plot and lots of places designed by people. It acquired space travels and lots of things to complete. There is a multitude of things to do in this game, and that's what makes difference between "yet another procedurally-generated sandbox" and something more than that.

My experience
Not the best game i've played but far from worse, had some problems with the gameplay but to summarize id say its a better option to wait for a real nice deal first. Not worth it full price as far as i've played this game, Fun but kinda dull, hopefully if the game is still under development they might add more stuff and fix some of the weird issues i've had with the game, if so id be willing to raise the review score

Awesome game, worth even full price.
Been playing this at a friend's house for a while now. A most excellent game (now) - ignore those crappy reviews from people whining about development versions - the latest as of this typing is already a complete experience, and extremely fun. There are quite literally more places to visit than you'd ever see even if you spent an entire lifetime playing, and no two, even of the same overall biome (desert planet, ice planet, so on and so forth) will ever be the same, and there will be times you'll need to visit multiple of the same planet type to find what you need, because not each will have everything - but there are limits. There's a finite pool of resources each planet type 'can' start with, but it's still a huge undertaking to see EVERYTHING the game has to offer. And you're free to build your own planet(s), stations, or anything else, at any time - provided you can survive the hostiles and find the materials.
