STAR WARS™ Rebellion

Love that this game was added! My only gripe is the fact that there was never a mod or fix that allowed you to remove natural disasters and let you play really long games without entire planets being reduced to worthlessness. I don't know if that's something that can be fixed at this point now that GOG has it, but it would single handedly be enough to earn a purchase from me even if I still have my old CD copy.

I bought and downloaded this game years ago. Loved it BUT... now that I have upgraded my computer which runs with Win 11, the game won't even launch at all after downloading and installing... I'm asking the GOG wizards for some help here.. Thanks..

I played this a long time ago on a PC far away... It's quite average as far as space strategy games go. There's a lot to like in this game if you're a fan of Star Wars and its now defunct 'expanded universe'. It's a 4x space strategy game that plays with the urgency of an RTS. Apart from the usual RTS fare, the idea of recruiting and deploying a varied array of characters to help accomplish your goals is fun. It does have some shortcomings. I never could get the hang of manually controlling space combat and simply left it up to the game to decide the outcome. Also the more planets you control the more tedious it becomes to manage them. If you're looking for a 4X Star Wars themed experience, this will satisfy. If you're looking for an excellent 4X space strategy game, Master of Orion II is the gold standard.

Unless you stand on your head! (the icons are upside down, scroll bars work the wrong way round and the colour is squirly!) Worked a charm before I updated from Win 7 So I still recommend it for all those that hold off from new Microsoft OS's
