A Flawed Classic

Star Wars Battlefront 2 (Classic) is both the best and worst of the pre-HD era of games, the game is full of content but half of it can be uninspired or poorly designed. It has bots but their AI can be stupid and/or erratic. It has multiple gamemodes but most of them are shallow or unpolished. While the context of the story mode is interesting, its execution is uninspired with a lot of wasted potential and difficulty spikes. It's Mods-compatible but it was made to only work with community-made maps, the other mods work through replacing vanilla files in the game files and in the modern age that can be annoying and dangerous if you don't do backups for everything you replace. Even with all of this, i highly recommend you buy this game, specially if you are burned with the ultra-serious, limited in content, offline-weak shooters of the HD era.

Still far better than the 2015 Reboot

This game may not have the amazing graphics that the 2015 Battlefront game had, but this game had by far the better gameplay and the visuals still aren't that bad. There's probably mods out there that can really give this game a much needed makeover. What makes this game better is because it has a ton of maps and even more with mods. There's even a mod that lets you play all the battles from the first Battlefront game that weren't included in the sequel. This game includes pretty much every major battle from the first six Star Wars movies (it doesnt include Force Awakens because it wasn't released back then, although there might be mods to include battles from that movie). There's around 20 maps both on ground and in space. This is widely considered to be one of the greatest Star Wars games ever made, the only game that can top Battlefront II is Knights of the Old Republic. It's still a ton of fun and it's a game every Star Wars fan should have in their collection. The Force is strong with this game.

FEBRUARY UPDATE BROKEN!!

The new February update has broke the game! The battlefront online community is no longer able to use certain mods in-game. Crosshairs are no longer as accurate, and we are having bugs! Please resolve these issues. Servers also desperately need updating, as unregistered shots are a normal occurrence and expected during gameplay. We have a dedicated community that needs to be heard.

One of the finest Star Wars games ever!

Some games age very well, despite their dated graphics. Battlefront 2 is one such game. Its got everything you could want in a Star Wars FPS. A great Singleplayer campaign, Galactic conquest mode, an Instant Action mode with bot populated single player space battles. All without a single piece of DLC or any microtransactions. In short, its a far more complete game than EA's imitator could ever hope to be. All this and Temuera Morrison's velvety smooth voice.

This game is the ultimate Star Wars experience. While 10$ is a steep price for this decade old title, there are over 1000 planets/maps available in the form of FREE mods. These mods include graphics upgrades, 100s of new characters including Lando, Leia with a lightsaber, Darth Reven, Commander Cody, Kylo Ren and so many more. Locations include Alderaan, the second Death Star and the Theed hanger on Naboo where Darth Maul battle took place. New time periods include The Force Awakens, the Old Republic, the Clone Wars and the New Jedi Order. The new Star Wars armies with modified weapons and abilities will have you customizing your tactics to defeat new enemies in new ways. Even the most skilled players will find unexpected challenges as they are surprised by the difficulty of some of the maps. Even locations that have nothing to do with Star Wars have been modded, such as Halo, the Lord of the Rings Helms Deep, the Elder Scrolls, the Legend of Zelda, Samus and even My Little Pony. The 10$ price for this game is tiny; because if you consider all the free mods available it cost less than 1 cent a map. You can play a new level every day for years.
