One blast from destruction, the U.S.S. Voyager is mysteriously transported into a hull space infested with danger. As part of Voyager's elite Hazard Team, you must defend it from a host of scavenging aliens, then infiltrate a Borg Cube and derelict vessels to eradicate your deadly foes. The Quake III Arena™ engine powers the dynamic gameplay as you fight for survival through 40 ultra-intense single-player missions and 16 multiplayer arenas. It's first-person shooter action that won't quit. But, be prepared-if Voyager is destroyed, humanity won't be far behind...
Fight along side crewmembers with the additional of Icarus AI, an enhancement to the Quake III Arena™ engine that allows for extraordinary team interaction.
Nine weapons-each with two firing modes-gives you eighteen different attack options. That means the firepower will be there when you need it most.
Multiplayer modes offer Free-for-All, Capture the Flag and breathless Team play.
Corridors collapse, walls explode, and enemies materialize right in front of you.
Includes the Star Trek™: Voyager - Elite Force Expansion Pack.
Not just a great star trek game, it's a great shooter, with a story that feels like an 2 part epidsode of Star Trek Voyager. I put in hundreds of hrs of play time back in the day and hundreds more when I added mods. A must download for Star Trek Fans out there!
Widely regarded as being one of the best Trek games ever made, Elite Force really lives up to its reputation, even now.
The graphics aren't mind blowing, but they have a certain charm that seems to defy the age of the visuals.
I was always impressed by the variety of the levels and how wildly different they all feel to play, even though they're all just different space ships and stations. The gunplay is really good (because id Tech 3) but my favourite parts were the already where no combat took place; exploring a giant alien gunship, looking for ways past obstacles, or dashing through Voyager, shutting down damaged conduits and rescuing trapped crewmen along the way.
Between missions, you interact with your crewmates as they shoot the breeze before heading to their briefings or grabbing something to eat from the mess hall. It made this starship in the future seem like a real place, like walking into the TV show. It was nice to get the perspective on a Star Trek episode from one of the crewmembers who usually just wandered around in the background of shots, kind of like the Lower Decks crew.
It's a pretty short game, maybe 10 hours all in, but there are still little choices sprinkled throughout that can effect who lives and who dies, the more you keep alive, the more help you have in the endgame areas.
I adore this game, I played it through 3 times the first weekend I bought it 2 decades ago. If you're a Star Trek fan, you've probably already played it, but if you're a fan of clever, engaging, well paced and well acted first person shooters, you will definitely enjoy this.
One of the best Star Trek Games and one of the best Shooters of the early 00er Years is finally back: Thank you gog for bringing this classic (and the second part) finally back.
There are plenty of Trek games out there... some good, some not. This one is one of my two favorites.
It's not the 1st Trek FPS, but this game captures "being in Star Trek" better than any other game. Here, YOU are in Starfleet!
A few reviews here discuss how it's "old" and "shows its age." Not so much. You can tell you're looking at a CGI character, not a real human being... but NO game has ever really breached the "uncanny valley" and given us CGI characters indistinguishable from real people.
The game is a masterfully immersive "deep dive" into the TNG-era "Star Trek" universe. You're an ensign (never seen on screen, but always there) on the USS Voyager. Tuvok decides to create a special team... a "Hazard Team"... with special training and equipment, to respond to "extreme situations" the regular crew would find beyond their skills or training. And you're one of the crew assigned to that team. (Other team members include two characters seen on the show, not including Tuvok, and several newly created ones.)
The game is set near the end of Voyager's run, shortly before it returned home, but before the series finale.
You (especially with the add-on content provided with this package) have the ability to go anywhere (almost) in the ship. For a Trek fan, it's very entertaining to do so, but for others, you can just play the game straight through.
It has a "holodeck" where you can basically play "shoot everything" competitive play (against AI or against other real people).
And... while this is harder to find these days... it has a lot of "extra content" created. ESPECIALLY if you're a fan of the original Star Trek series... I recommend looking for the "Starbase 11" mod and the "Virtual Dreadnought" mod. (Your best bet to find these, these days, would be with the "Mod db" website, on the page for this game, under "addons." The site that used to host them, "Spacestation K7," is long since closed down, however.)
Any fan that's looked for good games based on Star Trek knows that they are hit and miss. This one was a definite hit! What's really special about this one is it's an FPS which isn't something you'd expect from Star Trek. I stumbled upon it after getting into Voyager a few years ago on Netflix and researching stuff relasted to the show.
I had a blast from Start to Finish. For the era it's from, it really put you into the world of Voyager and it's characters. As soon as I discovered GOG released this and the sequel, I bought them both ASAP. Looking forward to playing through them again... and again... and again!
I was pleased to see the Virtual Voyager expansion included as well!
