Decent Despite the Controversies
It's still S.T.A.L.K.E.R. still a wonderful game. The improvements I like the best are the in-game FOV adjustment and expanded mouse sensitivity range for lower sensitivity users. I don't use a controller for FPS but that's still a nice addition for others. Many of the graphical effects are snazzy but they can really heat up your GPU and eat the framerate up depending on your system. And hey, it is free for original owners. We can play whichever version we want now. However, Chornobyl sounds stupid to me compared to Chernobyl. Even so, it's just a letter. At some point we should be socially aware of haphazardly changing things in life to suit temporal causes. Which is to say that changing the name slightly and removing the Russian content isn't going to change the evil transpiring in the world. Deleting history from media is not the way to learn from past mistakes. Apparently, there's some new bugs, old bugs, and some arbitrary changes here and there. I feel like unless you're a diehard S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fan it won't make a bit of a difference. These new enhanced versions are nonetheless perfectly acceptable for another awesome playthrough of the series.
