Bad edition
dont waste youre time with this thingy out there, if you buy it play the originals!, they are more stable , and just better. I suggest playing with OpenXray, that is a really cool way to play this franchise!!!!!!!!

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Censorship of Chernobyl
In this "remake" version the game was censored (they removed several Soviet symbols) and still has bugs that prevent you from completing missions. I dropped the game.

Crashes
Refuses to work, just crashes upon startup. Tried multiple wine versions, but got the same issue. The original works fine so there really is no excuse for this.

I enjoyed it.
I've seen some negative reviews on here regarding this game not being true to the original & having bugs, but since this is the only version I have seen I just set about shooting baddies & completing missions, like you do. As for bugs, it seemed from what I read on various forums that nearly everyone was using mods because you couldn't play without them. Well, I played right through without any mods (on Windows 10) and apart from 2 or 3 crashes had no problems. When it crashed I just loaded it up again - no problem. Loads really fast too. It has four levels of difficulty & I used the second easiest, but still found it pretty tough in places. I am, obviously, no expert gamer but managed to get through it with lots of help from reading forums & watching youtube. The gun fights feel pretty realistic and the AI seems smarter than in your average game. The weapons seem to be based on ones that really exist, and that just adds to an immersive atmosphere. There are some things I would change, but no game is perfect. It kept me entertained for many hours & now I look forward to trying the next in the series.

Nice free update for a classic game
IMO the EE keeps true to the original, while adding some QoL improvements here and there - mostly visuals, though. The grass and vegetation in general looks better, the field of view is significantly enhanced and overall the graphics feels a bit more polished, despite still using the original textures. The only real gameplay difference I noticed was the stadium/arena shootout between Pripyat and the NPP, which was cut off from the original game and restored in EE. P.S. This review bombing by russians is pathetic. If you guys would have put 5% of the energy you spend here into actually fixing your country, we would've already lived in a much better and safer world.
