Spongebob Platforming Refined

The Cosmic Shake incorporates the best aspects of the Spongebob Squarepants platforming video games from the 2000's. It has the honor of formally being the spiritual successor to Battle for Bikini Bottom (BfBB), hosts improvements over The Movie tie-in game from 2004 (the previous successor to BfBB), and has the creativity of Creature from the Krusty Krab without the demented sense of humor from that particular title. The Cosmic Shake reflects its source material masterfully, while also acknowledging the niche of players who grew up with the aformentioned games. It is rare for owners of a property such as Spongebob Squarepants to have produced media with such qualities, which is something to be celebrated. The game was a joy to play through, even while playing on a dated laptop with mouse and keyboard controls. The platforming and combat aspects were executed well, despite being a bit simplistic and derivative of previous games. The levels felt open and spacious, whilst being linear to carry the narrative effectively. The game also sports a good length and replay value comparable to BfBB. The art and graphics are great, putting the game's hefty engine to good use. There is a wealth of smart asset reuses from BfBB - Rehydrated, with additional artistic nods to other Spongebob platformers. The original music is often good, while not being quite as memorable as BfBB's soundtrack. The story is a fun journey with motifs from the most notable episodes from all of Spongebob. The humor is akin to the show as well, with quips by Patrick granting several laughs throughout the experience. The Cosmic Shake is whole-heartedly recommended to anyone who enjoys Spongebob Squarepants. It is accessible to fans of the show of any age and of any background with video games. It seems unlikely that the niche of Spongebob platformer-lovers will be served something of this game's quality again soon. Much like fish, it would be best to enjoy this while it's fresh.

Best Spongebob Game Ever Made

Completely outstading game! If you can call this masterpiece a game, it is art, and not to mention I also love the SpongeBob televison series. I must say that this game goes far beyond measures as to accuratly and epicly not only upgrade but amplify the, new age, if you wil, though of Spongebob's entertaining media addition to gaming as well as beautify and retain the original glory of the entire show sense Help Wanted. Asside from the luxorous beaut of the imagery, which is amazing by the way, The Cosmic Shake's functionality including animation and gaming controls are no expection to quality value either, they are also very smooth, and quite fun to play along with ( I personally like my -Xbox Controller 8 -D ). The roleplaying aspect I find very attractive to game with as well, the NPC's to me are flawless in their storytelling and gameplay alltogether. I've played many SpongeBob video games over the years, and my favorite overall has always been Atlantis Squarepantis for the WII system, (Call Me Old Fashioned If You Must). For the record, this little gem here has outnumbered every SpongeBob video game's quality and value combined 1000%, second to none, by far, a very long shot, really. Worth every penny and more.

A Great Game for SpongeBob Fans!

If you're a SpongeBob fan and/or enjoyed Battle for Bikini Bottom this is the game for you. Purple Lamp builds on their remake with an original 3D platforming adventure. The Cosmic Shake lacks much of the polish you'd find in its contemporaries (Mario Odyssey, Crash Bandicoot 4), but the foundation here is solid enough. The developers opt for fewer, but deeper levels compared to Battle for Bikini Bottom, which gives stages a higher and more consistent quality. The writing is quite good as well; the main story might be simple but the jokes are very well done, and the game even imitates the gross-up close-ups found in the cartoon. Overall, it's a good time for SpongeBob fans, but if you don't have much attatchment to the series or previous SpongeBob platformers you may come away less impressed than I did.

Battle for Bikini Bottom 2

Have you played the 2004 classic Spongebob Squarepants Battle for Bikini Bottom. Then you've already played this game. Based on the Rehydrated remake from 2020, The Cosmic Shake is the sequel game we never got. The story is original and it's style, humor, and characters are based off of the modern Spongebob, a series I haven't seen in years. While the voice cast is all from the show this time, the years have taken it's toll and you can hear it in their performances. They are good, but jumping 20 years into the future, and you can tell Spongebob's lost a bit of his pep. That said, the gameplay is fantastic, and mixes well with the story. It's a more linear adventure, though it does have some replayability with hidden collectables and what not. That said the story is the focus in this game and it show. Sponegbob is the only playable character, and while you are join with Patrick, he's more of a Navi than a Player 2. Overall it's a good game, perfect for kids, and a must play if you've enjoyed Battle for Bikini Bottom.
