Atmospheric and philosophical
An ambitious game. It comes with a thoughtful, deep, and philsophical story, atmospheric graphic and sound, and a okay-ish gameplay. While the primary focus of this game is not on being scary, it's still quite creepy. Clearly recommanded for everybody who seeks more than just a possibility to kill time!

Greatly done atmospheric game
This game makes the player get in the role of the protagonist and think about the things he saw, read and heard even after they finish the game. A sci-fi scenario perfectly put in a way which makes the players get goosebumps in the idea that things could happen in a world overcome by technology. It is not, however, in the common meaning of its genre "scary" or "creepy". You rarely have to face threats that make you run around or jumpscares, but the whole atmosphere of the game makes you want to look behind you all the time. You continuously feel a presence near you and that's another little detail which makes the game seem like a psychological thriller with sickening and thought provoking scenes. If there is one setback, it is the lack of action. However, lovers of atmospheric games will absolutely love it!

A Fantastic Experience
SOMA is a short game when compared against the usual AAA titles published today by the likes of Ubisoft or EA. It is also an incredibly simple game: there is no map, no inventory, no journal or another means of tracking what you've done or need to do, or where to go. There are no sidequests and no busy work; just the main campaign that strings you along through the story in a relatively linear fashion with a few easy puzzles to solve here and there. There are enemies scattered throughout the world, but no means for fighting them. Despite all of these elements that make SOMA rather unconventional, it still bests many AAA titles published by enormous and foolhardy global conglomerates. Why? Because SOMA is not about getting from point A to point B while killing as many enemies as you can, or racking up points through some arcane mechanism, or living a second life in a virtual city. SOMA is, on the contrary, a deep meditation on what it means to be human, a work of art akin to some of the finest works produced by the likes of Arthur C. Clarke and Isaac Asimov. It has a phenomenal story that encourages you to examine yourself philosophically, and at the conclusion, leaves you in a state of awe. "Play" SOMA not as a game for amusement, but rather as a clear lens through which the powerful relationship between man and machine (increasingly important these days when you take into consideration where our world is going with respect to artificial intelligence) can be explored and dissected. All that being said, this game is not for everyone, but if you're the kind of person like me who prefers to have their mind probed instead of fed repetitive garbage, you will enjoy SOMA.

What does it mean to be a human?
This is storytelling at it's best! The athmosphere, the immersion - it's amazing. But more than anything - it's a philosophical experience that stimulates your mind. This game is one of a few things (not only games!) that influenced my worldview. The main question of the game may not be the most novel - but it is definitely one of the most intruguing ones - what does it mean to be a human? This game does not give an easy answer, but it definitely makes you think about an answer to this question.

Sans doute un des meilleurs jeux auquel j'ai joué, il pousse le joueur à se remettre en question et nous fait vraiment voir notre vie d'une façon totalement différente, vraiment incroyable, j'espère qu'il y aura une suite et d'une aussi grand qualité! <3
