Great story ruined by one bad mechanic

The story is everything one would expect of Benoit Sokal, and the art brings back memories of Syberia in places. The only criticism is the detective wrapup of each section of the case, where you have to pin evidence based on the question asked. Which in itself is a great concept but when your pinning 10 items and getting 1 wrong results in no progress or hint on whats right is brutal. I got through a few without cheating but after looking a few up noticed alot of the questions asked have no bearing on the evidence your supposed to be pinning. This could be a translation issue or a me issue (overthinking). Either way when you get a question such as Why did ... commit the murder? You expect to be pinning a motive, not a means or opportunity evidence like this seems to want you to. However that niggle aside finding the evidence and discussinge evidence was kinda fun, though did feel like a walking simulator most of the time but once I accepted that it was kinda relaxing. Overall though if your a Sokal fan, its worth it for the experience and the artwork. Otherwise I'd say give it a pass theres better detective tales.

Immersive story with great voice acting

I was surprised at how patient I was with this crime drama and loved how the story unfolded. It may have been due to the impressive architecture that was Walter Jones' tower or the believable character interactions. Either way, the game is realistically beatable without cheats if you pay close attention to detail. I really enjoyed the development of the characters and appreciate the logic involved in unraveling the mystery.

Well written but very tedious

This is another point and click adventure that has a lot of things going for it (style, writing, voice acting, music, atmosphere...) but is so heavily flawed in gameplay it will often leave you frustrated. There are two main issues. Firstly, it lacks any variety in locations and there is basically just a huge hotel with the same looking areas and its surrounding. Secondly, you cant quick travel but have to walk/run all the way to your destination. It might not look that terrible on paper but both of these flaws together make the gameplay very monotone and extremely annoying if you miss some clue. You can spend hours just running in circles in search for a clue/item and when you finally find it you will possibly have to run around the whole map again, find all the NPCs and confront them with what you found. It is just tedious and the game becomes more and more boring and dull instead of becoming more and more exciting. I would recommend it only to hardcore adventure players mostly because the story is not really that interesting that it would force a casual player to overlook its big gameplay issues and finish the game. I personally had enough of it somewhere in the middle.

Decent Game!

Interesting mystery and beautiful scenes. Has that Syberia feel but with more mystery and clue-finding. Voice acting is fairly solid. Doesn't take too long to complete. The world is quite large when you begin, and you will do a lot of running back and forth from place to place.(though it's a beautiful backdrop). However, as the game progresses, your world gets smaller and smaller, making it easier to find people and get places. The worst part of this game was the amount of dialogue and repeated questions. I suppose it's like a real investigation, where you have to listen to long accounts of each suspect, but it makes the game slow and tedious. It would be better if the topics of conversation were more limited - not every charatcer needs to weigh in on every single clue! You have to look for clues very carefully and it's easy to do things out of order but for the most part it makes sense. There aren't many puzzles, and they are on the easy side compared to games like Syberia. I loved how when you loaded a game, it would give a quick recap of what you learned so far - really helpful since there's a lot going on in the story. One thing that was annoying is that many of the characters look the same - most of the men have brown hair and are wearing yellow-beige suits. It was confusing sometimes. One guy looks a LOT like Fred Armisen. Overall pretty good game, doesn't take too long. I think it would be quite intense to play the timed version.

Une tour, un meurtre et de la déception

La mise en scène est fantastique: un riche excentrique bâtit une tour au design impossible sur une minuscule île où il s'est épris d'une jeune aborigène. Toute sa famille, qui le déteste, est invitée pour le mariage, mais il est assassiné le jour précédent. Vous enquétez sur ce meurtre avant que la crue des eaux n'efface le crime. Ça ressemble à une bonne aventure de détective, n'est-ce pas ? Malheureusement, on doit y jouer. Au début, vous pardonnez quelques mécanismes et logique tordues, ce qui est de bon ton pour les jeux du genre. Éventuellement, votre tolérance à la logique ne vous sauvera pas. Graduellement, ça va jusqu'à la résolution finale qui demande d'éclypser une preuve fragrante pour deux indices redondants qui ne démontrent rien. À vrai dire, je suggérerais de ne pas finir le jeu. J'ai l'impression qu'à l'origine, le coupable devait être aléatoirement choisi pour chaque partie. Malheureusement, nous n'avons ni cette particuliarité, ni une résolution définitive qui n'est pas terriblement mauvaise. C'est une belle tour. Prenez-le pour la tour.
