Silent Hill 4: The Room

I remember buying in days back when it was released and after playing for a few hours I was absolutely stunned by how good this game nails down surreal atmosphere and introduces you into "horror dream" vibe. Storywise it's kinda 50/50, from one site it's a good story about shy, intrevorted guy overcoming his fears and deals with chaotic monster in his worlds (he also gets a girl at the and in best ending), but on a second site story is not inspiriting or unique, it's mostly world building and occult aspects of whats happening what makes me love what happening in story. Talking about puzzles and gameplay, again, it's different from previous three games, but still fun. This time, game more melee focused in terms of combat. It's clunky, yes, but dealable. Especially once you find out how good Axe for killing everything (even final boss). Also, I find this game most fun of all four first titles for getting maximum (10.2 stars in SH4) rank. Rewards for max. rank are not great in this one, but being able to speedrun it and memorize every step you must take is more fun than any rewards for me. Hardest part is to find 2,5 hours to spare for playing videogames when you adult and have way more responsibilities comparing to teenage years...damn, time flies.

Game keeps crashing about 45-50 min in.....dissapointing.

i gave it four stars becuase it dose not have the original sound track in the intro of the ps3 or xbox original game reguardless the game looks clear and crispt i can see SH PT demo is inspired by it has familiar levels from SH 3 more crazy enemies more hopeless atmosphere a must buy if your a SH fan

play the first four SH games, not just 2. they're all worth your time

This is a VERY peak Silent Hill game, despite the fandom hating it for some odd reason? I still don't get it, but this is a VERY good Silent Hill game, Henry Townshend(the protag) is so well written, the story is AWESOME, the scenery is cool yet scary, the other characters are well written especially the main villian, the mobs are also super scary but really well designed.
