Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri™ Planetary Pack

An invaluable addition to the GOG collection. Similar to Civilization and Starcraft but with customization of units, more depth to factions, technology and philosophical ideals related to them. The graphics might not be up to modern standard but are still pleasing. I look forward to the day where they develop the game and graphics to the next level.

I consider Alpha Centauri to be the sequel to the Civilization games since it starts after the spaceship launch. And this is one of those sequels who put their originals to shame. I still think it is far better than all of the Civilizations put together. The configurable units, the awesome setting and the Datalinks archive that makes for one of the most quotable games I have ever had the pleasure of playing. If you even kind of like turn-based management strategy games, you have got to buy this.

Simply wonderful to play. Pretty much everything is perfect, except for the somewhat tedious unit creation modes. A must-buy for any strategy or sci-fi fans.

The game is one of the best of all time, period. Wonderful story and atmosphere, great 4x gameplay, this game will seriously suck away at your life in the best of ways.

There is a completely different feel to each of the factions, or if you wish to employ a particular strategy with an ill-suited faction, then a ramp up of the difficulty. It may seem simple, but it's the Wonder videos that keep me coming back so often; they are just that amazing. You will definitely become addicted if you are a Civ fan, this game beats the Civ series into the ground in my opinion, even though I love them both.
