Équipé simplement de l’orbe du temps de Lakmir et accompagné par Yorick, compagnon sarcastique du Seigneur Jair, vous vous dirigez vers la source du fléau - Château Shadowgate.
Des monstres sournois et des puzzles astucieusement conçus vous attendent dans le légendaire château. Pour vaincre ces sombres créatures qui barrent votre route, vous devrez construire votre livre d'histoires et apprendre six écoles de sorts puissants. Interpréter les histoires et combiner et maîtriser les sorts fera la différence entre une victoire rapide ou une mort prématurée.
Alors, courage ! Même si l'obscurité vous attend à Shadowgate et que le Grim Reaper parcourt ses anciennes salles, vous l'emporterez ! Vous devez l’emporter ! Car c’est le destin de Kal Torlin qui repose sur vos épaules.

Modern Slop
This is one of those games I walked in wanting to love. After all I've been a fan of the franchise since I played the original on NES. But as I walk away, this feels like the personification of the more sinister side of game design made by a team who really had no interest in the franchise so much as wanted to make their own game and used Shadowgate as the vehicle. They completely disregard the previous title and the lore it established, tore down the original main character, and while Raven was not a completely unlikable character, her total struggles both in the game and as she described her life before it basically boils down to when she had to ask the Djinn about unlocking powers within her that she already had, even as she knew all about what he was scheming somehow. It feels like this is more a fan-fiction then anything else with boring gameplay to support it... In short this is a prime example of what modern trash looks like.

Unexpected game!
This seems to be the direct sequel to Shadowgate that takes place shortly after the first game. It seems to be just built on the license of the same name, because the true sequel from the original developers is called Beyond Shadowgate. That game had the same type of gameplay and sound of the original NES game, they even added chiptune music to that game, This however was very different, it's more like mediocre adventure game, missing the suspense of both the original game and Beyond Shadowgate. Something that made the OG game so special, was the technical limitations, so you had to add a bit of your own imagination to the game. This just feels flat and dull in comparison.
