Redux is a glitchy port

Skip this Redux port and try "Shadow Warrior Classic Complete" for free instead unless you really want the GOG achievements. This Redux edition has bad vertical mouse precision (worse than Dosbox ports), skybox glitches, mirror glitches, hatch patterns appearing over some sprites, and no multiplayer. While Redux does have widescreen, higher resolution support, and easier keyboard config; those can be fixed with a free source port like SWP by ProAsm (also adds auto-saves and modern multiplayer) or manually running Dosbox to get into the original game setup program. Even on sale for $3 this feels overpriced, at least until they get the bugs fixed. All that said the game and its expansions remain fun to play despite what could be interpreted as punching-down racism.

Considering its age - not bad

I have, so far, beaten the main game, one of the DLCs - the wanton destruction and a couple of levels of the twin dragons. I am almost at 10 hours and will probably gain a couple more from the second DLC. The good: - The campaign is fairly long, even longer with the DLCs. - Nice variety of interesting guns and satisfying gunplay. - Fast paced. - Quicksaving. - Galaxy achievements. - Asian setting. The bad: - My main issue: Somtimes it is very unclear where to go next and you can waste a lot of time walking around in cicrles looking for some hidden button to push or a key (Thankfully there are guides on the internet). - There are some "mandatory" secrets you need to find to progress. - There is almost no story. - The bosses aren't very interesting, they are very simple and fairly easy if you don't play on the highest diffculties. - There is this bug of invisible mines in one of the DLCs. Overall: If you are a fan of classics such as Doom, Duke, Blood etc. get SW on sale. There is no reason to pay full price for a game this old. The gunplay is nice, its fast paced and humorous. It includes 2 DLCs.

The GoG version is broken

A good old school shooter, but wont run on my system. Problems with display scaling and crashing to desktop. I bought this and it wont even run. The Steam release is stable and playable. Too bad. Hope it will be fixed.
