Really fun gameplay, but also racism
The actual game itself is really fun. I beat it in about 9 hours which is a pretty good length for such a simple shooter, and there is hours of other content if I wanted to play it. The maps are huge and open without being confusing, it's amazing just how expansive the levels actually are, with the levels in the city specifically being huge and multi storied. But the entire time I was playing, a bad taste was left in my mouth because of the fucking racism. The guy who voices Wang is a white dude (from texas unsprisingly) which just makes me incredibly fucking uncomfortable when Wang is speaking in his comedy asain accent. This shit really brought down my expierence of playing the game. I'm sure for some people it won't be a huge deal, and hell there are probably some Japenese people who don't care at all about this, but I'm sorry this just ruined the game for me. It's sad seeing this studio that made hard rest, one of my favourite shooters, do something like this. It's just wasted talent going into a game that is fun to play but is constantly being racist in the background.
