Serious Sam: The First Encounter
Description
In the near future, during their first interstellar travels, humans encounter a great evil that has been roaming the galaxy for the last few eons. This evil being is an incarnation of the last ancient immortals called Notorious Mental. Mental has set forth to wipe out the Human Race, just for fun, as it has with all the other civilizations in galactic history.
But the enemy has underestimated Earth’s defenses, a secret weapon left by the Sirians, an ancient race which fought against Mental on Earth in ancient times. This device, called the Timelock, will enable Special Forces veteran Sam 'Serious' Stone to return to the time of ancient Egypt and assassinate Mental, saving Mankind from extinction.
In a world where cyberpunk meets fantasy and hi-tech devices are mixed with black magic and psychic powers, Sam travels from the beautiful world of ancient Egypt through many diverse planets, confronting hordes of Mental's hideous minions on his way to the final showdown at Notorious Mental's lair.

fix multiplayer
i cant play multiplayer because game spy got shut down. I also heard that steam version got a multiplayer update that fixes it. Why not the gog version?

Blast your way through boredom
You're Serious Sam. You have Serious Weapons. To do some Serious Damage. And kick some Serious Butt. There you have it - the whole story and point of the game. Seriously. Sure, it becomes repetitive. And sometimes annoying. And you'll hate Marsh Hoppers. And you'll wish it had a simple "melee hit" l4d-like button. And it will be less interesting to play the game alone or without a co-op infinite respawn. Maybe, maybe. Oh, and you may definitely think, that you'd better buy an HD version for slightly more. But HD version is: a) more hardware demanding b) more "brownish" and less colorful c) needs Steam which is as awesome as it is sometimes bad. Oh, and while *slightly* more expensive, it's still *more* expensive. So, the best choice in my opinion? Buy both versions -_-

Not so Serious Sam
I used to own this game before GOG ever came along, and it is hard to find any real fault with it. It's a genuine first person shooter, but with a sense of humor, you can't really take the game to seriously. The monsters are ridiculously over the top, and range from giant bulls to headless henchmen and scorpions with chain guns. But the game works on almost every level, and is great fun to play without being to difficult. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned gamer, you will find this game to be a worthwhile purchase.

Old School Chaos
if you love old school shooters like Doom & Duke Dukem 3D then Serious Sam is the game for you. no stealth missions, no securing documents, no defending somebody or something, just you vs a legion of monsters & aliens. Serous Sam reminds us that above all games should be fun.
