Schizm: Mysterious Journey

This was the game that got me into puzzle/adventure games! I played it a lot when I was around 13/14, but back then I could never finish the entire game. This time around I was finally able to finish some of the puzzles I never finished as a teen, but at some point I did need a few hints as the puzzles are still pretty hard. Very satisfying when you do manage to solve them though! I love the story and atmosphere and this is definitely still one of my all-time favourite games. Highly recommend if you like older puzzle games like Myst! Only down-side is that you have to walk back and forth a lot, with two characters, and since you can’t skip the transitions or walk faster it is someties a little annoying, but at the same time you just get to enjoy the beautiful surroundings even more :)

I remember getting it for free in two DVDs from a PC magazine. It was in Greek that was a big deal back then and I really enjoyed the first DVD from both sides of the riddle. That because the second DVD was stuck and never went on to finish it and I was really annoyed, because I loved it, but now here comes GOG. At last I am gonna play it and finish it. This genre does not age well, if you seek breathtaking graphics try something else. If you would like a casual explore and solve puzzles experience, with beautiful fantasy landscapes, that show their age, including a spectacular soundtrack, then the game is for you.

This is a fun concept with a few interesting twists on your standard point and click puzzle game. This game came out seven years after Myst and four years after Riven, and it really leans on those giants for the foundation of the game, but falls short of the high bar both games set. The puzzles can be a little challenging, but it's not because they require a lot of information, it's because they tie into the cutscenes frequently. Some cutscenes you can replay, like those on tablets, but others, like the random encounters, you cannot. The acting and the dialog from the cutscenes are also pretty shaky and can really cause more confusion than you were expecting from a random encounter. However, burried in the bad acting are very important clues to solving the puzzle and you'll need the information to progress. If you missed them, you'll need to load a previous point and try to get all the clues again. My suggestion is to pause the game via the space bar as soon as you see an encounter and record the everything on your phone to watch as needed. It's a pain for sure, but it's better than finding a game walkthrough. The true issue you'll run into is the movement between points. There are so many great details to this game, but you don't get to seem them all because the movement points decide what where you go and where you stop. While cool at first the 360 rotation just adds another level of trouble when trying to find the correct area to click to travel. Nothing worse than wondering around for hours because you couldn't access the elevator because you didn't rotate 90 degrees counter-clockwise and see that the curtain is the way to travel to get on the elevator. The game needed some better way to show movement paths as the little pointers didn't help. I'm still trucking on this game though as there's a good story buried underneath the issues with navigation, interaction with objects, and the acting, or at least I hope there is. Sshizm: Mysterious Journey is arguably the best and most difficult adventure game I have played. It ranks in difficulty with Mysterious Journey II: Chamelion, and some of the RHEM games. Mysterious Journey includes sound puzzles and mathematical puzzles to a base 12. The graphics are outstanding as is the story. You first find yourself immersed so much into the game, 5-6 hours pass away in what seems seconds. The game takes around 30 hours to play, and on completion, you have an aura of invincibility and peace of mind. This is a must play game for serious adventure gamers.

Le jeux fonctionne correctement il est en anglais mais un personne sur le forum a fait un patch a installer qui fonctionne parfaitement du coup il est possible de l'avoir en version française et çà c'est beau du merci a cette personne qui a pris le temps de faire un patch je vous recommande ce jeu qui a été mon premier puzzle Game vieux de 20 ans mnt
