I used to own Saints Row IV

I have seen people complain about the Epic Store issue and how it's not DRM free. They're right, but this isn't GOG's fault. God, I loved Saints Row IV. It was my vibe of fun insanity. Then (after Deep Silver bit it) the company that bought the franchise decided to streamline everything... to the Epic Store version. I was going to buy it from GOG but this is the Epic version as well. If somebody has a physical copy (HA!) of the old hotness and cared to send it up to these guys, I for one would gladly jump through the extra hoops for a version that isn't ruled over by Epic. I doubt I'm alone in this. As far as the game itself goes, the DLC were always suitably outrageous and the pricing was always suitably NON-outrageous. If the old hotness were ever salvaged from the Hot Mess, I'd recommend it highly. Again, I doubt I'm alone in this.

A blast from the past with problems.

The game hangs in places when I play it and requires a CTRL + Alt + Delete "Sign Out" to regain control of the PC. If you look on SR4 fondly enough then still buy it because it is bearable if you want to play the game again. If you haven't played it before, I wouldn't bother. SR3 is far better in terms of story and game play and doesn't have what I consider to be the worst DLC of any game i've ever played.

Stability Issues

The graphics are a little dated, but solid enough that it doesn't impact that experience too much. The controls, while not perfect, are easy enough to get the hang of. The first part of the game was fun, I liked the directed narrative and interactive video sequences, but once it got into the rest of the game, it started crashing. I have experienced this multiple times in the last hour, and each time it happens I have lost game data. So, at this point, it is a potentialy fun game that is suffering from stability issues that make it unplayable. I am going to try to resolve this problem and I will update this review to reflect that if I can, but until then people should be aware that the game is somewhat unstable (using RX 480, AMD processor, and Windows 8.1).

Hilarious Fun!

If you're looking for a serious game, this is the wrong one, but if you want to play something really hilarious and fun, you really can't go wrong with this.

Audio issues detract from enjoyment

I had had this in my shame pile for a while and decided to load it up after finally finishing the Witcher 3 and GTA V (for some reason I have had more time at home recently).. Anyway my game has been plagued with audio issues. First the car engine noise and enemy attack effects were no existent. I tried the "VLC" fix and the 5.1 to stereo fix but to no avail. Eventually I limited the FPS to 60. This restored the car sound but ambient environment noise was almost undetectable and for some reason the car engine noise drops away after a while. Seems odd to.me that a game that is more than 5 years old is still suffering from such a basic issue. I have not had a problem with any other games. Including the much maligned Arkham Knight (which ran fine for me pretty much from release). It is not game breaking but as the title says it detracts from the enjoyment
